Husband must leave the US to another country

Hi everyone. My husband must leave the US for school for about a year or two, I am a conditional permanent resident. What are my options, do I go with him (this we both want) or do I have to reside in the US entirely until i remove my conditions. Please help..

Go with him. Get a reentry permit. You will still have to ROC on time and travel to the US for biometrics, etc.

Great. Thank you. How do i get the reentry permit? This mean my green card alone will not be sufficient to renter when I am ready to file ROC or do biometrics right?

A reentry permit lets you be out of the country for 2 years without abandoning your residency. You get it through form I-131 (and ay the fee of course). You could do without the permit if you came back periodically, but the reentry permit will guarantee that your time out of the country is not used to determine that your residency has been abandoned.
