Hi everyone! I am on my way to AOS and EAD. However we got troubled applying for a joint bank account because, the bank is asking for a PICTURE IDENTIFICATION (state ID). I already have my SSN and showed them my Philippine passport and marriage certificate.

The Florida State website's requirements for state ID are EAD (which i dont have yet nor havent applied yet) and SSN.

Questions are, Do we really need a Joint Bank account for AOS or a 3-year tax transcripts, petitioner's bank statement, payslip, employment certificate and w2s would suffice the affidavit of support (I-864)????

We cant move forward yet having been confused if we need a joint bank account, and such requires me a STATE ID which i dont have an EAD coz we opt submitting it along the same time as AOS..

Need help with this.. Thanks in advance! ???

AOS is not about joint bank accounts ... relax ... that will come later when completing ROC.

AOS is mostly about evidence of support;I-864, tax return and such. Only your most recent tax return is required, along with the W-2. Additional years are optional.

But no joint holdings are needed.

If interviewed USCIS will ask basic stuff about you two living together, your home, car .. that kind of stuff

You need the financial stuff asked for by the I-864 (tax transcripts, pay stubs, those things). It's not required to have any relationship evidence beyond your marriage license. My husband and I sent ONE joint checking account statement and one other piece of relationship evidence. He got approved without an RFE or an interview. Some people sleep better of they submit more but it's not required.

K-1 from Haiti - NOA1: 5/27/2014; NOA2: 7/8 USCIS never updated to say that it was sent to the NVC (just in case you're as concerned about your status not updating as I was about mine)

just go apply for a state ID and with that and your SS number you can be added

Applying for a state id in florida needs an EAD. In my case, i dont have it yet because we are going to submit my EAD along with AOS. The logic is you cant apply for one without the other one. So if a joint account is REALLY a requirement for AOS the least i can do is to submit my EAD application FIRST, so i can get a state ID and then I can submit my AOS...

thanks!

how about my husband's Alien number? Do i have to put it when asked in AOS forms even if he is already a naturalized US citizen?

No alien number for USC, once naturalized no longer an "alien". Only you have an "A#" (alien)
