I don't think that is MANIPULATION in any way at all. Fathers can live away from their children but it isn't easy for mothers.

Those are her children and she has a say in where her children get raised.

You could start by been nice to her, she might trust you with her children and don't start throwing "manipulation" word around.

That woman can either make it easy or hard for your boyfriend.

I didn't say anything about manipulation. Nor do I think there is manipulation going on. I have no anger or resentment towards her whatsover. I wouldn't want to be away from my kids either. No need for the hostility please. I was just seeking some advice on my situation.

Sorry Smwalker1982, I was responding this:

"Nothing is wrong with it. What I meant was hoping that the mother isn't using the kids to manipulate the father into finding a way to the US knowing that he is desparate for them to be with him."

Yep,

And all I was saying was I hope it WASN'T the case. Which seems not to be.

Good luck, OP

Like everyone stated above, the only current avenue (until the children are older and only after dad has petitioned for them in the first place) would be for him to marry his children's mother. However, if he is only marrying her to facilitate her green card, that would technically be immigration fraud. It sounds like a tough spot to be in :(. Perhaps when dad becomes a citizen, he can petition for the kids or figure out a way for them to have dual citizenship. Long distance co-parenting is tough enough, international long distance co-parenting sounds much more complicated.
