Police records and paying

Greetings,

I'm almost about to submit my I-129F but have two questions.

  1. First off how do I pay from overseas? I have asked at the Bogota embassy but I'm frankly confused. They refer me to this link and say "When the case is transferred to the Embassy, we will send her instructions on how to complete the process, including the payment which has to be done online." but that sounds a bit odd. Won't they reject my I 129F packet if there's no $340 payment in there? Are they referring to another payment? How do I pay this thing without mailing it all to the US and having family forward it
  2. Second, in preparation for the interview we are getting the police clearance forms from the countries she has lived in for over a year. Sweden is easy. However she's been in Mexico for school and internships on 3 different occasions. Jan 10-Dec 15 of 2006, Aug to May 2010, and Aug to Dec 2015. That's over a year total so does she need to get a police clearance? It looks to be near impossible to get one from Mexico. Looking at instructions online makes it sound like she needs to get an attorney, travel to Mexico, provide finger prints, utility bills, ride a burro up hill both ways through the snow, and pay on a full moon with the blood of a chupacabra. Anyone have experience with Mexico?

Thanks

There are two fees you have to make the I-129F which is the $340 then actually paying for the visa to be issued $265 (which isn't paid until you get your NOA2 Approval and goes through NVC and arrives at the embassy .

For the first one you either have to send a check or go to your back and have them issue a check for that amount.

The $340 has to be send with I-129F it can't be seperate.

Yupp she would probaly have to go to mexico for the police clearnce :(

Can a foreign bank issue a check that is drawn on US funds? We're in Colombia.

We've sent a letter to the Mexican embassy and are hoping to hear some better news than that. It would be absurd to have to fly to another country to pick up a piece of paper.

As she didn't live in Mexico for a continuous period of one year she would not be required to obtain a police certificate.

I don't think you are required to get PC's from Mexico unless you have been arrested, someone else might have more information on this. I highly doubt the embassy would expect you to fly to any country just to get the P.C.
