Congrats--any advice to look out for us same-sex couples on questions they may ask particular to our situation? My fiance must be in the closet for cultural reasons--it's very illegal there--so I have been concerned about how they would handle this.

The thing is, they can't do anything about it since the petition was filed here in US (and USCIS already approved it), which for same sex couples like us, is LEGAL. :)

The questions they ask to other couples are the same questions they asked my fiance. In addition, since it's US Embassy, it is an American Consular who will be giving the final interview to your fiance. As long as the relationship is genuine, there'll be no problem. :)

I don't know if this answers your questions, or what your asking, but interviews for same sex is conducted in a private room, they don't interview you in open area like the other visa interviews.

I don't know if this answers your questions, or what your asking, but interviews for same sex is conducted in a private room, they don't interview you in open area like the other visa interviews.

I've seen a few from Egypt post the interview procedure on this site and a few other countries also.

My question is different, but that's a very nice piece of information and I thank you for sharing. Being pulled into a separate room for no reason could make him feel nervous and singled out, so it's good I can tell him ahead of time that if that happens, it's for his comfort and privacy.

Hello! Just want to wish you both all the very best on Wednesday. I'll be thinking about you.

I know what you mean about being happy...I'm happy too that our interview comes up next week, but anxious too. I feel like it is going to end well for us, I really do...but still there's the anxiety.

Oh, and I took your lead...today I booked Noom's ticket from Bangkok to Thailand! I'll fly over to him on September 21...then we will fly home together on October 2! I figure there's no way anyone is ever gonna deny our relationship so just go ahead and start living instead of just waiting!

I know you'll post when you know the results of the interview! I can't wait to read the most excellent news!!!!!

Interview was on 08/25/2016 and CO said my fiance's approved but until now, status is saying ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING. :cry::clock:

And our POE is on 09/09/2016, hopefully, it will change to ISSUED very soon or better yet, get a text message from the courier that VISA is ready for pick-up. Really hoping and praying. :thumbs::)

I feel for the couples that endured a rougher journey to be with their partners.

Same-sex fiancé visa petitions have been going on since 2013. I should know because we submitted ours in August 2013.
