Question:

Does your EAD/AP combo card have your full married name? I got mine and just noticed that my middle name is just a middle initial. I'm just wondering about it. And I went to change my name in my SSN and they just put the name exactly as it is shown in the EAD/AP combo card. I'm a little confused because my previous SSN has my full maiden name, including my middle name not just the initial. Sorry for the confusion.

Previous SSN Name (Maiden Name): First Name, Middle Name, Last Name (Maiden Last Name)

Current SSN Name Change (Married Name): First Name, Maiden Last INITIAL, New Married Last Name

Sorry if i can't explain it clearly. Is it usual to have just the Middle Initial in the SS card? I haven't receive my SS card yet but the lady from the Social office gave me a letter that states what name will be shown in the card.

My full name is on my SSN card, my daughter SSN has her full name and my husbands also has his full name on his also... I think your FULL legal name needs to be on it... When I went for my SSN the man who done it have me a sheet of paper typed up and said please verify name and address is correct before I submit this... Did they do anything like that with you? If so you could of told them to out in your full middle name and not an initial... When you SSN does come in the mail you can simple go back to office and do a correction on the name which is an inconvenience but it's not the end of the world Edited by Moslund

The lady at the SSA showed me a paper and i asked to chsnge mg Initial to the full maiden name for my middle name but she said it's supposed to match the name on the EAD. Maybe I'll just wait and see and if there's more corrections on my card, I'll just go back there and ask.

Thank you so much!

Yup i did. They only asked for my Passport, Marriage certificate and EAD. The lady said it might take 4weeks or earlier (if i get lucky) before i receive my new card because they still have to verify some info from the USCIS.

I think the documents they require varies depending on the state where you are. You can bring your birth certificate and NOAs too just to be sure.

SSA requirements is not per state. I went there a day after I received my combo card. The lady put my full legal married name. She based it on my marriage certificate as it was stated there what's my new legal name. Once you applied, you can check it in SAVE case check status.

I don't know about that but i have read in the other forum that the person from SSA sometimes requires birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport, ead. Sometimes not. It usually depends on what the SSA officer asks from you.

I was just saying that i was asked for my passport, marriage certificate and ead. Sometimes they ask for more documents.

Better to bring all your documents just in case they ask. Just to be sure.

Hey good people. Congratulations to everybody ge[iNG all these good news... ... I have a question.... . How many of you (or spouses) are adjusting status from a B2 visitors visa after an over stay??

I'm adjusting from a B2 visa as well. I did not overstay though, we applied for AOS about six weeks before it expired.

Congratulations to everyone who received good news or their cards!! It's great to see progress :) :) :)

I am hanging in here, working on solutions and a plan B (in case I can't get back in time to my home country; seeing what legal rights I have. Thank you for the tip Yongma, it got me on a better track, will continue on that after the weekend). And trying to focus on positive things instead of stalking the USCIS homepage ;)

I am a bit confused though about the counting. I assume I have to leave out the days between the RFE and the USCIS notice of receiving the required documents. Which, in my case, was 21 days. From the day of the USCIS receiving the application 83 days have passed, and I assume I have to take out the 21 days so I am officially on day 62, correct?

(They said all my cases were on hold and they resumed on the 21st day).

On my timeline it still says: "Based on timeline data, your EAD may be adjudicated between September 1, 2016 and September 6, 2016*."

As the timeline does not ask when your RFE has been received would I have to add the 21 days to these data?

I still have hope the EAD/AP will come sooner :clock:

oops...meant to rely under Soley but that is how I am counting as well since I read that the AP and EAD are different applications. We have the same received date for the RFIE so hopefully we will hear something around the same time. I hope we can shed some light on this for those that come after us with the same issue.

I have become a Status Stalker too and am convinced that the only reason USCIS put it up was to stop the inundation of calls and give us something to do all day while we wait...kind of like Skinner rats pushing the bar waiting for our reward

Chrisete, I have been reading a bit more on this.

I certainly hope we can shed more light on these issues for anyone else looking for information on the same issue!

I shouldn't be confused as they stated clearly (when I asked for an expedite on my AP):

Our records indicate that we are awaiting your response to our request for additional evidence on your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status. Your case, and all applications associated with it, is currently in suspense or on hold until we receive your response. Please follow any instructions on that notice. You may request expeditious processing again once USCIS has received your response.

However, when I talked to the Tier 2 lady she said I couldn't do another expedite. Maybe I can do a Service Request but if I'm on day 62 that doesn't sound as a possibility yet. I think you need to be on day 75.

Also; we did send in the requested documents but my husband had to file an amended tax return.

We included a letter with the requested documents that we will be sending the amended tax return with a copy of the RFE letter. We are a bit unsure though if that will be received well. The lady said that if they need anything more they will ask us. But we don't want to have to wait again for a letter that will hold up more time.

I don't know Skinner rats but it sounds funny :) the waiting can still be tedious.
