Hi all,

I'm on about Day 69 since my filing/received date.

I phoned the USCIS Customer Service Centre today to enquire as my I-485 because it is still on "Fingerprint fee received" where it has been stuck since early June, just after my filing date. The Tier 2 agent said that my case looks "very good" (he repeated it twice which I thought was encouraging). He mentioned that the case is still at the NBC and that they received my biometrics back in early July. However, he said that they hadn't received my background check yet.

Any thoughts? I'm not really sure what to say apart from "rubbish" and "I'll just have to wait this out".

I'm aware that background checks are an essential part of the process and also familiar with the process from here and here, and a few recent posts written in the threads for AOS filing months surrounding ours. I am aware of the difference between the biometrics check and the namecheck. I have a *very* uncommon surname both before and after marriage, plus I have absolutely *no* criminal record (if I had then I wouldn't have passed the US Global Entry background check last year which I believe went through some form of biometrics and namechecks). I'm not entirely sure what is up but I shall just have to wait it out, hoping that it is just a random error.

Sighhhhhhhhh. I'm not entirely sure that I would define that as a "very good" case (the words of the Tier 2 agent).

Simon.

Hi all,

As an (non-)update, I phoned USCIS this morning. A Tier 2 agent confirmed that there was no change and the background check hadn't come back on my I-485 case yet.

We're on day 79. Trundle trundle.

Simon.

It's not easy to say the least to deal with this non-sense and have to wait and wait..... Hope they'll get your background check back soon, Simon!

I applied for an expedite on my AP.

Just got the answer: "Our records indicate that we are awaiting your response to our request for additional evidence on your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status. Your case, and all applications associated with it, is currently in suspense or on hold until we receive your response. Please follow any instructions on that notice. You may request expeditious processing again once USCIS has received your response."

USPS will deliver the RFIE today....

Patience.... And trying to figure out what to do when I don't get it in time.. I've never had to deal with these kind of restrictions before - not an easy one!

Judy

Hi there, Does anyone know how I fill out the 864 Part 3 line item 28. My husband is only sposoring me so I put in a one. Then on Part 5 it asks on line item 1 to enter the number of people you are sponsoring, and its just me so the household is 2 people. There are no dependants. Then it asks on 3 to enter if you are married. Tick that box. Now it autopopulats to 3 people in the house instead of 2....silly, but I can't figure this one out. Anyone have any ideas.....I keep thinking that on Part 3 I sould put a 0 so I don't count me twice....frustrating. Help please if you can :)

The auto-population thing didn't work on my computer for some reason so we filled out that part by hand.

FYI you can add you timeline to your signature so it shows up everytime you post then all you need to do it update it... Secondly some people get stuck on fingerprint fee receieved... People who get there interviews waived get stuck on fingerprint fee recieved then it changed to approved... Just cause your on fingerprint fee recieved it doesn't mean for sure your interview will be waived it could also mean they just haven't processed your file yet to put you forward for an interview... But yes it Can be normal to stuck on fingerprint fee recieved

Thank you for your prompt reply about my I-485! It's good to know that it is normal. I am not gonna worry much about it, I have set up email alerts, thus I should receive info when the status changes.

I added the timeline to my signature, so hopefully it'll show in this post.

Good luck again to everyone involved in this journey/Odyssey!

You only count people once, mark 1 for the people you're sponsoring and don't mark 1 for married. There's an example forms part here on vj, just go by that
