Congratulations everyone with approved EAD and AP!! Wonderful news!

I actually called for expedite AP as my timeframe is getting smaller and smaller, I hope it won't mess up with the regular approval. When I read all the positive updates I think I can expect my EAD/AP to be approved any day now.

We sent the papers they requested in the RFIE out Thursday. But since those were for AOS it shouldn't have effect on EAD/AP.

Timeline

Just wanted to share our journey for the AOS EAD so far. Reading through your blog has kept me afloat during the worst periods of anxiety/desperation, so this is my way of giving back. I hope it helps.

I am adjusting through marriage from an F1 OPT status. I already had an EAD from last year, so I think this has helped to speed up the process, since I was already in the system.

My timeline so far:

May 10th AOS package + EAD and Advanced Parole sent

May 12th delivered

June 4th package returned to us, wrong check amount. cue: desperation, I was on a tight job deadline as I am a teacher and if I do not get my approval for a certain date, I lose my opportunity to work for the rest of the semester!!! :crying:

June 6th: package resent

June 7th: package received at the Chicago facility.

June 17th from midnight to 1am: NOA received via text (woke us up, but it was good news so no complaints)

June 20th: paper NOAs begin to arrive.

June 24th or 26th (don't remember exactly): biometrics letter received for July 7th (32 days after the package was received by USCIS).

July 7th: biometrics done.

The excruciating waiting begins.

July 27th: change of address online form filled.

First days of Aug.: one of the places where I work panics and asks for EAD asap otherwise I'll lose my job offer. Cue panic

Aug. 4th: expedite EAD request filed on "severe financial loss to individual", even though it rarely works. But by now I am desperate.

more excruciating waiting.

Aug. 15th: status update: the cryptic "your request for an expedite EAD processing has been completed". Which just means they reached a decision on my case, but I don't know if it is approved or denied.

Aug. 16th: the best day of the year: new EAD card ordered :goofy::dancing::goofy: Later on in the same day it changes to EAD card approved. This is a miracle!!!!!Someone up there loves me!

Aug. 17th: new EAD card is being produced

Aug. 18th: new card mailed

Aug. 19th: USPS has picked up your card. Tracking number provided!

Aug. 22nd: expected delivery date. If it does arrive that day I can accept the job I was offered, so fingers crossed!

P.S. I-485 is stuck on "fingerprint fee was received", is this normal?

Good luck to everyone! I feel your pain!!!

FYI you can add you timeline to your signature so it shows up everytime you post then all you need to do it update it... Secondly some people get stuck on fingerprint fee receieved... People who get there interviews waived get stuck on fingerprint fee recieved then it changed to approved... Just cause your on fingerprint fee recieved it doesn't mean for sure your interview will be waived it could also mean they just haven't processed your file yet to put you forward for an interview... But yes it Can be normal to stuck on fingerprint fee recieved Edited by Moslund

What do you all plan on wearing to your interview? I recall when I went for biometrics that a couple waiting to be seen for their interview (they were with an interpreter who told the desk what they were here for) were wearing jeans, he had a shirt on and she had super sparkly high heels and jeans on.

Will you have children with you? We know nobody trustworthy enough up here to mind our one year old so he'll be coming with us. Fortunately he's very mild mannered.
