Hey guys. So I've been wondering when my wife gets her EAD can she travel within USA by air without getting deported. She came in with a B2 but it's been expired since 2014 so she cannot apply for the AP. Can she be able to travel by flight with me or will she need a special document??

You normally cannot apply for AP if she has more than 180 of unlawful presence but there might be some loopholes I don't know about. She should be able to travel domestically though.

But her passport is not a US passport.

But it's her document. She should show any form of ID to go into the boarding part of the airport.

But her passport is not a US passport.

It doesn't matter if it's US passport or not... Aslong as she isn't leaving the country she should be able to fly domestic... I've flown domestic using my UK passport with my k1 expired a few years with no issues... The only thing they care about when your flying domestic is valid ID they don't really care what form of ID it is as long as not expired... It's when you go threw international customs is when you will run into problems with expired visa's Edited by Moslund

Got mine and my K2's biometrics appointment in the mail yesterday. Below is my updated timeline.

11 Jun 16: AOS, EAD/AP application mailed

27 Jun 16: NOA1/Receipt # SMS and emails rcv'd

01 Jul 16: NOA1 hard copy received in the mail

02 Jul 16: Notice date

09 Jul 16: Biometrics Appointment notice rcv'd

18 Jul 16: Biometrics app't, 8:00am, USCIS Salisbury, MD

True, domestic travel is ok... Driving licence can be use as an ID too.

Right now she wants to travel but has only Kenyan driving licence and Kenyan passport. But from what iam getting she can travel domestic with her foreign passport. Thanks y'all

True, domestic travel is ok... Driving licence can be use as an ID too.

Yes she can travel within the United states with her Ead card or her state id card without fear of getting deported. No worries .
