If in fact your husband has insurance through his work, getting married should be the qualifying event. At least that's how it worked for me. They give ma 60 days to make the changes. I added my wife to my insurance 2 weeks after our wedding and they actually backdated coverage to the date we got married. It's worth asking.

Also, something to consider; I was told that some insurance companies would consider this a "pre-existing condition" and either limit or deny coverage. I suggest going and letting a doctor make the official diagnosis, just to be safe. Not sure if this is accurate, but better to be safe than sorry.

He is insured but we failed to meet the deadline. We already talked to his HR but they said he can't change it anymore until next year. But since my due date is still in February 2017, we'll probably just change it by then.

Thank you so much!

Around 3 months after filing, but many cases are taking more than that.

Just did my biometrics- on the appointment date. It took a little over an hour. They were very friendly. Just a lot of people there.

They have signs saying they don't allow walk ins and check your appointment letter before you have to wait in line.

Also did a walk in today. Wasn't expecting to be seen, just to reschedule with the closer center, but they gave me the clip board and said they could see me after the scheduled people. Wasn't too busy at Yakima, everyone was quite friendly also. Took 5 minutes once they call your name. Those that were there by appointment were seen on time.
