Hi guys,

Unfortunately today we received a REJECTION NOTICE for the I-765 EAD. It states that the payment amount is incorrect or has not been provided..However, I applied for the three things at that same time so from what I researched we only had to pay US$1070.00

I also noticed I did not sign for this application

I'll fix it now, this means I have to pay the extra fee now?

Please help, I'm so sad.

No need to pay extra. Just send a copy of your i485 receipt notice along with the i765 package.

The fee is correct--when you submit all three applications together the standard fee (at this time) is 1,070 as the I-485 is 985 and the biometrics fee is 85. You did send the I-485, EAD, and AP all in one envelope I'm assuming? Otherwise their reasoning, on that point, is incorrect.

Unfortunately not signing an application is a reason for automatic rejection on the singular form, but shouldn't outright reject the other two from my understanding unless it's the I-485 you didn't sign. Which form didn't you sign?

P-ana though I believe may be right, but I would double check. I don't think you would need to pay again as they have accepted and cashed your first payment. Just attach the notice you received from USCIS with the new application and that should be sufficient.

All updated with everyone's updates over the last few days - enjoy! :)

https://docs.google.com/document/d/12IkPw_JzOrXWONUmGQf8J5c6hG-Tq45ceH0-y1qrrYs/edit?usp=sharing

Wow A for the effort. Thanks a lot for this. It's a really good idea to do this.

Also, I haven't been able to update my case. Here's my info:

AOS, EAD, AP: Filed May 24

Check Cashed: June 2

Notice Date for AOS, EAD & AP: June 3

Text and Email Notification: June 5

Notice Date for Biometrics Letter: June 11

Biometrics Appointment: June 30

ASC Office: USCIS Jacksonville Florida

My case numbers aren't working yet and hopefully we get updates with our cases. God bless everyone!

OFF TOPIC QUESTION:

Does anyone know a good health insurance for Immigrants/ GC holders? I recently applied for medicaid and got denied because I'm not a US Citizen yet. I hope anyone could help me with some info regarding this. I'm desperate 'coz we just found out we're pregnant and my husband is the only one working (since obviously I'm still waiting for my EAD) and we really need at least some help with my prenatal check ups and everything.

Anyway, Thank y'all so much and God bless.

The form I did not sign was the I-765....

Im scared that if I send this package again with no check they will say I did not pay again...but they sent them all together at the same time....:(

Is your husband insured? Call his provider. If it's state marketplace insurance explain that you've applied for AOS and are awaiting your EAD so you can apply for a SSN. They may accept your passport and I-94 (if you were issued one) and put you in a 90 day probationary period allowing you to apply for coverage through them. We are both insured via Washington health plan finder after I called and explained.

Some employers that offer health insurance don't even require a SSN but if he's insured through his employer he'd have to ask what's required and some only insure the employee not their family. Again, explain about the AOS, EAD and SSN.

How far along are you? Most initial appointments are just to establish care. If you're in early weeks they won't usually see you until you're at least 8 weeks along and even then it's just a urinalysis at first. Don't panic, the expensive parts don't happen off the bat if you have to self pay a few appointments. Plus, most offices reduce the rates for self pay patients.

We already tried to add myself in my husband's insurance but their HR said they cannot add a coverage for me until 2017.

I also tried to apply at Health Insurance Marketplace because they approve pending immigrants but somehow they couldn't verify my identity. Probably because I'm using my married name now. Maybe i should try applying using my maiden name..

I'm 9weeks now and i had my first appointment a week from now and they said if i couldn't get an insurance, the first appointment would be self pay and it already cost $500+

I'm really confused and clueless of what to do now.

1st your will be in 2017 when you are in labor so you will have coverage during delivery and hospital bill... Secondly once your financial medical cost = 10% of your husband gross income you can claim anything that surpasses that 10% back on your taxes so keep receipts!!!! Most health insurances will give you a breaat pump for free if you choose to breast feed that is so keep that in mind for when you do go on his insurance Edited by Moslund

It's not ideal but if your financially strained due to the medical bills you can go to the free clinics and for ultrasounds look around at medical college students that are pursuing that career most college to give there student experience will give ultrasounds for free... It's not ideal but it can save you money here and there... I only know this cause a friend had no insurance and she got threw her pregnancy via free clinics and ultrasounds via medical colleges

He's insured through his work then I take it? I'd definitely give the marketplace a call and ask for help from a human. Our initial application wouldn't allow me to be on the insurance either but a human fixed it. Also, once you receive your AOS it's a qualifying life event that will grant you both a 60 day grace period to apply for market insurance outside of the annual enrollment periods. If your husband is insured through work would he not consider market place insurance if it meant you could be insured too?

$500? I'd be sure to check the breakdown of what they're billing you for. Sometimes there are things on there that weren't done. Maybe it's the cost of GA. I had my baby in PA and the first few months were self pay. The only super expensive appointments for us were the ultrasounds but I suppose it depends where you go.

If you're still struggling for help after calling around might I suggest you put up a post on the main forums to garner better assistance. I only know what I know and this is just an update thread for AOS.

I've actually called the marketplace already and we tried to figured it all out for at least 40 full minutes until the customer service just hanged up on me and gave up.

I'm probably gonna look for local assistance near me and hopefully figure this thing out.

Thank you so much for your help!

If in fact your husband has insurance through his work, getting married should be the qualifying event. At least that's how it worked for me. They give ma 60 days to make the changes. I added my wife to my insurance 2 weeks after our wedding and they actually backdated coverage to the date we got married. It's worth asking.

Also, something to consider; I was told that some insurance companies would consider this a "pre-existing condition" and either limit or deny coverage. I suggest going and letting a doctor make the official diagnosis, just to be safe. Not sure if this is accurate, but better to be safe than sorry.
