Hey June filers, we attended my wife's AOS interview December 21 in San Francisco. We received e-mail and text notices that she was approved on December 29th and then received another e-mail and text that  the green card was supposedly mailed on January 4th. Now 1 month later we still have not received it. I put in an inquiry and they gave the standard your request will be answered within 30 days. Just checking to see if anyone else has been approved but it took over a month to receive the green card. Did the email say the deadline until when to wait for the card? mine literally says:

Yes ours said if we didn't receive it by February 3 then we should place an inquiry so I did.

 

Still a little frustrating when most people receive their cards a few days after getting the notice that the card has been mailed.

Can't Believe it's been 255 days since I started the AOS June 2016 Filers forum.

 

Yesterday afternoon I got the pleasant surprise of finding my Green Card in the mailbox...no email, no text message, no app notification whatsoever. But I will say that I am so incredibly relieved that I have it in my hands. So much, that my hubby and I went out to celebrate!! Date night...yeiiii!!!!!

 

What a different experience from the K1 Visa process.

 

The AOS process was sloooooooooow, and with no update information at all. It was nerve wrecking!!!! I stayed in "Fingerprint fee received" limbo for the majority of the process. I am grateful that I was not required to have an interview, which would have prolonged this more, and that I didn't get a RFE. But most of all I am glad I kept myself distracted enough, not to get overwhelmed by the prolonged wait.

My focus now is on continuing enjoying life with my wonderful husband and to be ready for the next step which is the Removal of Conditions in a year and nine months. Let the countdown begin once more!!!

 

I wish everyone the best of luck and a happy life!!! Hope our paths cross once more in this great site and its helpful forums.

Hi everyone,

 

I filed an I751 to remove my conditional residence in June 2016 with the Vermont Service Center. On July 18, I went in for my biometrics appointment and haven't heard anything back since.

 

As far as I know, I haven't received any further correspondence asking for more evidence or requesting an interview. I've also used the Check Status tool, and it doesn't tell me anything other than the fact that they sent me my biometrics appointment. 

 

My question is: is it normal to go this long without hearing anything? I'm getting a little worried that I missed something !

Unfortunately, our local post office lost my wife's greencard. The card was mailed on January 4 and received at the post office on January 7 but never delivered to us. We are unsure if it was stolen from the post office or lost by the mail carrier. Unfortunately we never received a tracking number at the time the card was mailed so we were unable to track the package to see that it had arrived at the post office. Had we received the tracking number, we could have went to the post office immediately and probably retrieved the card. The message that was sent to us telling us the card was mailed tells you that you will receive a tracking number but it also says to not inquire about the card for around 30 days to allow for delivery. We wanted to follow the rules so we waited. On February 14, my wife finally called USCIS and was told the card was waiting for her at the post office and she was given the tracking number but by this point, the package was nowhere to be found. The post office was absolutely no help and just treated the situation like it was a lost piece of junk mail. They say there is nothing more they can do so we should request another card to be sent.

 

I filed a claim with the post office to get it on the record but I'm 100% sure nothing will come of it. Hiring a lawyer to deal with a lost green card is pointless because if the card was indeed stolen, there is no way to trace it.

 

In order to get another card, we will have to fill out an I-90 form and send $540.00. We were told that it could take up to 6 months.

 

I highly recommend to anyone that get approved that if you get a notice that the card was mailed and you do not get a tracking number or receive the package within 2 days that you call the customer service number and get your tracking number just in case. I am sure we would have had the card if we had received the tracking info right away.

we just got a notification via text/email that our interview has been scheduled for mid-April. PD June 21st. Excited and nervous. I forgot about the AOS and was just living normally. Now it came back again lol. Anywho, hope that helps others. Good luck ??

I checked my case status after seeing the update above me ^^^ . My case was updated yesterday for an interview in April!!!!!!! Pd : JUNE 15

Hopefully my case status changes soon too.  My PD IS 6/14/2016.  It is a relief to hear that cases are moving after they were seating on a desk for so many months.
