Hi all,

It's been a while since I've posted but I just wanted to let you know that I've since been approved for my green card. I've updated my timeline and signature for anyone that is using data. I've also left a review of the USCIS Seattle office that you can read below:

As many others before us have said, our interview process at the Seattle office was quick and easy.

Our interview was scheduled for 7:55am but we arrived around 7:30ish. We went through security, signed in and received a number. Then we walked upstairs and sat down in a large waiting room. There was probably 20-30 other people there. Most of them had their lawyers with them, which I thought was surprising. Our number was called around 8:30ish and we met with the officer for about 5-8 minutes. Yes, our interview was that short. The officer was extremely friendly and basically only asked us to confirm a few things like: our full names, birthdays, wedding date, phone number and current address. He then told us that he'd read the affidavit that my husband wrote and didn't feel the need to ask us anymore questions. He asked if we'd like to submit any proof of our relationship with the packet and I handed him some scanned photos and paperwork (bank statements, rental agreement, etc). Then he told us that if he needed anything from us he'd let us know.

We walked out of the office and received an alert on our phones that we'd been approved and that my card was being produced. Quick, easy and painless!

Hello!

I had my interview yesterday in San Diego. It was scheduled for 10 am and the officer called us around 10.30 am

She was nice, she made a lot of question about my previous marriage and about our plans for the future. She wanted to see evidences that we lived together and bills under both names.

Then I showed the album with the pictures and I went through almost all of them explaining where we were and with whom

After this she made me sign a paper saying that I have been granted conditional permanent residence and how to remove the conditional status after 2 years.

Then she said I should expect my green card in about 2 to 3 weeks

The interview was about 40 minutes long.

I was expecting my online status to change....but it is still on Interview scheduled.....it is this a bad sign??? because I read that for most of the people the status changes right away... :(

Hey everyone, it's been a while since I have been on here or even posted but I just wanted to give an update on what has been happening since my last update.

Had my interview on December 13 at 8am at the Boston office, got their around 7:35am and thereally was already like 30 persons there already waiting. Me and my wife basically sat around until 8:12am when they finally called my name.I was told that they would speak to my wife first then would come and get me after by the lady that would be conducting the interview so my wife took all documentations and went. What seems like a forever wait came to an end around 8:40am when I was called into the room.

To my surprise all the questions I was expecting to be asked never were.

When I got inside the room she was basically talking to my wife about her brothers and their kids. When she turned her attention to me she was basically saying that she did not see any real evidence of us really living together or joint proof of anything. I had only brought with me computer print out for a credit card I got and put my wife on it as a authorized user, my 401K beneficiary page, car isurance where she is covered under, ultrasound pictures of our baby since she's pregnant and that's it, she made a big deal of me not being on the least. She then asked why my wife stopped work and in the middle of my response she was like "no, you guys muse have spent all night rehearsing this" because we were giving word for word answers. I was like we have spent all this time together mostly being I side so what else do you expect, we know each other inside out. She made a fuss about and then moved onto something else and basically went back to saying that she just could see it then she went through the standard yes and no questions and then she looked at me and was like "I don't know why I am approving you because theresults lack of evidence and all that, but I am gonna approve you" I was like thank you very much. For about the next 8 minutes she kept repeating that same line.

The interview in total lasted about an hour, didn't get out of the office until 9:18am. I asked my wife what they talked about and my wife said just mainly her family especially one of her brother's that has kids and I

Is currently locked up, and they barely asked about my family, asked about our apartment and which days the garbage is collected and the funny thing is I was never asked none of those stuff, we weren't even asked how we met. Ohh I was asked about my previous travels to the USA and who I came to see and why I left my job and decided to stay here but those were just quick questions which she didn't spend a lot of time on. After which she took my EAD card and put it a zip lock bag in my file and told me that I would be getting my green card in the mail in 2-3weeks but there might be a delay with mailing because of the upcoming holiday so I should be mindful of that. I asked if I wasn't getting my EAD card back she said since I am getting an upgrade, I just ok and we left. She did howevery say that in 2 years time I will have to come with more solid evidence. I didn't receive a I551 stamp in my password and I didn't ask, seems like that is not so common any more unless u have a good reason for it.

My online status did not change until the following morning around 6am when I got two emails saying that I was approved for my I485 and I130 since I am adjusting from a B2 visa and then around 9am I received two text messages as well.

So I am just waiting to see how soon it comes in the mail and I will continue to keep you guys posted. I feel like my experience with my interview was a bit weird but I am glad for the outcome at least me and my wife can get a break from all this paperwork. Wishing you all the best in your interviews as well.

For those of you who are in the SF Bay Area who may be waiting, we just got a text/update today that our interview has been scheduled for 12/21/16 (the USCIS website shows they are currently processing February files. My wife is adjusting status from a K1 and our forms were received on June 6, 2016. Up until today our status was "Fingerprint Fee Received." If all goes well it would have taken just over 6 months for our AOS to be approved. Back when I filed, we were told around 90 days for EAD/AP and 6 months for the AOS approval. We received the combo card in less than 90 days and our interview is 6 months and 2 weeks past the filing date. So far all seems to be going as planned. Hang in there those of you June filers who are still waiting to hear.

Good luck for you interview!! It will be a nice Christmas gift for the both of you if you finally get approved :)

Thank you sky459 :) !!

From what I see here you are not the only one. It seems to be depending much on the location you're at (and so many other details I guess). Wishing you much luck!!

I did not understand this either, I had not seen anything like this before. So I looked it up as I understand your concern.

I found this:

5.10 AAO Decision

The initial decision certified to the AAO is not final until the AAO issues a decision. The AAO will review the initial decision and may order any action consistent with its authority under the Immigration and Nationality Act, the regulations, and applicable USCIS policy as is appropriate and necessary for the disposition of the case. The AAO will serve its decision by mail on the appellant and any representative of record.[138]

If the AAO orders the approval of the petition, the AAO will return the matter to the certifying office for continued processing and to generate any USCIS documents related to the approved benefit request.

The AAO may also remand a certified case if it identifies additional grounds of ineligibility during its de novo review that the field office did not address in the initial decision.

If the AAO’s decision is unfavorable, the appellant may file a motion to reopen and/or reconsider the AAO’s decision.[139] However, the appellant may not appeal the AAO’s decision to the AAO.

It looks like you'll have to have a bit more patience. Wishing you a lot of luck, hopefully it's just a bureaucratic thing and their decision will be favorable. And your Green Card will be produced soon! In the meantime just keep all your evidence in case they need it. Keep us posted! Love, Judy

Hopefully it won't be too long until some favourable clarity/conclusion (for instance, this favourable conclusion eight days after what looks like the same email; I couldn't find too much on VisaJourney about it so the hyperlink is an external link to a person's blog). Though there are some instances, here and here. Perhaps it might be worth calling up USCIS, like somebody did in on of the VisaJourney posts I have linked to.

Keep us updated. I am certainly routing for your Green Card to be with you very soon :) :) :) <3
