Great news, muccapino and sharon helena!! :) :) :) :)

Thank you Soley!!

finger crossed!!!

Hi guys,

So yesterday was my interview and my PD is June 13th and my Field Office is Hartford, CT. My interview was scheduled for 11am and I felt pretty good going into the office. Access into the building took us about 40 minutes but we made it into the interview section at 10:54am. We checked in and the receptionist asked if we had any paperwork to submit to the officer and I gave her the copies I made(she let me know that it was possible that I would not get back originals). I had not anticipated this, I envisioned myself giving the officer all of these items during interview however I was well prepared with copies of EVERYTHING. We then sat and waited for45 minutes before we were called in. SIDEBAR* as we sat there a stern looking officer came out and called a couple...they both rose and went towards IO then IO said to the husband that he should stay and he will question the wife 1st. I myself was a bit shocked on a few issues......how stern(borderline rude) the officer seemed to be, the fact that they were a couple(i thought it was mother and son sorry for being judgemental i know love has no boundaries) and the look of horror on their faces when they were told they would be interviewed seperately.

That put me in a bit of a funk and then 45 minutes later......they called us.....guess who my officer was?!? Yip! Mr.Grump Pants......so I walk to my impending doom while calculating in my head how long they may give me for voluntary departure.

We get to his office and he swears us in, began asking my husband questions, name, birthdate,address.....then whats my name, birthdate, where I was born, who helped us with our paperwork, our children's names and D.O.B, trips we have taken together. Then he turned to me and asked me the same questions, not much variation, asked me the questions on my I485. We answered everything correctly and all was well. He asked me if I ever had a visa before and I said yes. He asked if I overstayed a visa prior to this one, I said that I was not certain but I do no think so. I have a student's visa and after graduation I didnt return home immediately since I was pregnant with our daughter(not married) so I was not sure what the "truth" was so I said I did not know.

He then says, "BTW do you guys have ID?" I give hime my passport and husband's passport, he takes my I94, makes me sign a document stating that I have told the truth etc. Then says that because I am not sure about my previous visa history and do not have verification of my entries prior to the I94 he will need to check visa status before he approves. Disappointed, we say thank you and leave.

While I sit in the movies gorging on some cheesecake that I sneak into theater I receive the card in production update, then 3 hours later my I485 and his I130 are approved. Sorry for the novel guys and best of luck to everyone. Again, thank you for your kind words and support during this journey and I am excited for everyone.

Congratulation Utterbashment!!

so happy to hear so many great news!

Congratulations to all who are having their interview soon or have already received their GC.

I thought that living in NYC I wouldn't hear anything until next year summer, but it seems that I need to be prepared.

Who knew... don't know if I over- or underestimated bureaucracy.

Hope all are doing well. Almost thanksgiving!

Holiday filled weeks ahead.

Have a great time all of you and thank you for sharing your progress!

@sharon_helena and @soley Gefeliciteerd!!

Yongma

I live in San Diego and I was expecting my interview late February (according to USCIS processing time), but my interview is on December 13th....so probably you are going to receive your notice with a date sooner than next summer!!

really hope so for you, because I understand you completely.....waiting is so exhausting

My I-485 status just changed to “New card is being produced”. Woohoo! No interview.

Since I’m leaving the country tomorrow, does anyone know if I can use my AP to return even after they mail me the green card?

Hi guys,

I am going to be away from home next week for Thanksgiving and just realized that I may not be around to get any mail from USCIS. I wanted to know how long it took others to get their GC after the online update said approved and we ordered your card. I am sure that each case is different but hoping for a general idea......do not want paperwork r or GC knocking around in mailbox

Thanks.

Our interview was the 3rd of November; the update "approved" and "card being produced" the 4th. Card received the 16th. 8 working days after it said being produced. I don't think anyone works on thanksgiving so that's another day to not count, like the weekends.

Interview was on Nov.16 and got approved on the spot. Didn't bring much docs to prove relationship as we don't have joint account nor insurance. The IO asked for more pictures and asked me to tell me something about them. I made different collage and pointed out pictures with my husband's family. TBH, I was more worried about him questioning me as I'm adjusting from B-2. He approved us right on the spot and told us GC will be sent in 2-6 weeks. After a few hours, online status changed to "New Card is Being Produced" and I-130 changed to "Case Approved".

Keep the faith and be more patient to those who have yet to get interviewed. Congratulations to all that have been approved and had already recieved their GCs. See you all in less than 2 years!

Happy Holidays, everyone!
