I've been off of here for a minute. My wife's everything got approved she got her EAD and GC then applied for her social security and got it like a week ago...... She applied for a discover credit card and was approved with 0 credit history. It's been a really busy month for us.... Just looking for all kinds of jobs every kind of place...... I hope everyone gets approved on this forum.... It's been a loong time of uncertainty and sometimes almost hopelessness but she made it through. We made it.... Now onto the journey for a 10 year GC.

Though, very discouraging for someone like me to see people who applied a little or some even much later but received their card(s) already or a long time ago.

This is how screwed up the system is.

Oh well, not like I want to go home for my grandma's 90th birthday in two weeks..

I was approved after a short interview. The officer said we'd provided excellent evidence and all she needed was a copy of our Son's birth certificate. She asked a few questions about how we met and why we'd moved around a bit - hubby's work. Then said she had no issues and explained about what to do once I had my green card - 10 year one since we've been married 3.5 years. My green card arrived in the mail today and the neighbour collecting our mail since we moved said the box was empty. . . I could cry. Waiting for the landlord to check with his new tenants to see if they picked it up. Hoping and praying it's just that simple and I have my card over nighted tomorrow. *headdesk*

Panic over!! The new tenants picked up the mail and have literally just passed it to the landlord. *big fat hairy sigh of relief*

It has quiet down tremendously on this side..probably because most of you I startet out with have their papers already sorted out.

Well, my case was updated to 'new card is being produced' today (FINALLY - 56 days after my initial EAD approval and 26 days after my 2nd SR). All in all it's still ridiculous and I'm annoyed.

Nevertheless, I really hope that this time I get the card without further delays.

I might not have to go to the info pass appointment on Friday anymore...which btw was a pain in the rear to get.

Anyway, that's my news for today.

Ugh.... how frustrating is that?! I am sooooo beyond annoyed, it's not even funny anymore. I looked at your profile before and almost started to blame their negligence on the country we came from but I ran into more cases like ours. Something's up with USCIS. They changed a lot of rules all of a sudden... like the EAD production from 30 to 60 days. We seemed to have been drawn into the pool of unfortunate suckers still waiting for their EAD where as others were lucky enough to get a long time ago.

Also, it took me FOREVER to get an info pass appointment in NYC, which is this coming Friday.

Should I still go? My status has been updated to 'card being produced' (not that I'll receive the card within 10 days is a definite), but that was the reason for me to make that appointment.

Even though, a lot of people before and after me have already received their GC, I'm still within the 'normal processing time'.. so I can't really ask questions about my I485.

Suggestions......anyone? I just don't know what to do anymore....

Aaaah this proces is sooo frustrating I'm not sure how long my job offer will be available, as the employer keeps contacting me to see if I have news Plus I still don't have a SSN (due to mistakes they made at the social security office in South Carolina), so if it really takes up to 60 days for the EAD/AP card to be mailed then I still can't get a driver license or bank account

I cannot agree more!!! After my approval on 08/29 the status hasn't changed for almost 2 months. Now I'm on card being produced. I wonder how long that will take now

My wife just received her green card yesterday in the mail, you can check my time line.

Our case was untouched for months and all of a sudden on the 14th things started to happen.

We got a RFE for proof of marriage on the 14th.

Sent in evidence on the 15th

Got a text saying were approved on the 19th while we were on our honeymoon sitting on our ocean front balcony at night drinking in myrtle beach!

Got home on the 22nd and had I-797 hard copy waiting for us and got a text saying your card is being made!

Received green card yesterday in the mail! No interview !

Yes you do need to renew it in your native country but my wife found out that you can send it in the mail to England for a fee and they will send you your new passport and the old one back, it takes about 4 weeks! My wife's passport expires this December so she is doing this as we speak!

Everything to do with immigration is stressful!

Re the passport renewal, its easy, fill in the form online and send everything back to the passport office in Durham, I did mine a couple of months ago it took about 3 weeks to come back

Congratulations crazyworld, you really need lots of patience, I'm a June filer I haven't received any updates on my I485, it's been stuck on Fingerprints received since 6/20/2016. I hope November would be my lucky month...!
