Called USCIS tonight, we should have received EAD and AP by now. Tier1 said they would put in a request and it will take 15 days to hear back. I was very courteous but expressed dissatisfaction that there are people who filed the same time as me, whom received EAD and AP, and also dissatisfied that some people who have filed at the start of June have not only received EAD and AP, but also received their green cards. I asked nicely to please let me speak with a Supervisor. The lady I spoke to transferred me over, it was 4:30pm, and the automated attendant told me someone will call me in 103 minutes (more or less) of course, no one called me.

I will call back in the morning and try again to get to tier 2.

Starting to feel frustrated now. My wife desperately wants to get a job. :(

..with my luck...I don't believe it, but thanks for the motivation!

Have a little faith lol I've felt like you have before infiled start of April 11th I had the entire month of April and start of may filer surpassed me on the timeline which was super discouraging and I was always trailing me behind with everything from my NOA's to my biometric appointment and everything else... it's been hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel but last week I seen a glimmer of hope... I called cause day 159 rolled on by and I was still at "fingerprint fee recieved" only to find out my case got assigned to an officer and got marked as interview to be waived... granted it could still be a while til I recieve my approval but it's hope and a huge sigh of relief that everything is going to be okie!!! May I add my status still says "fingerprint fee recieved" Your time will come and I'm fairly confident the fact your still on fingerprint fee recieved you will probably get waived also... FYI the other 10 or so people on April filers who were stuck on fingerprint fee recieved all got waived also this past month and as always I'm the last 1 hanging in there waiting for my approval lol

Yeah, this sucks..especially when people that applied after you get approved before you :(

We'll see what happens. Cross my fingers that we don't have to wait much longer!

I was so tempted to b*** when I called today too, but decided to be nice. I'm so curious to what they say. Definitely give an update once you talked to them!! I hope you get some good news.

Hi all,

I thought I'd give an update:

USPS recently sent me a text about them having picked up a package from the USCIS (which presumably contains my green card). I got this text because I had signed up for MyUSPS and the text/email alerts. I can see it is from USCIS because it has their address as the sender. The card is coming from Lee's Summit, MO rather than Corbin, KY which is where the EAD/AP came from.

Nonetheless, the USCIS website hasn't updated with the tracking number and still reads as "Card is mailed".

At least, that is how it is working for me :) When they've set them up, I've genuinely been surprised that MyUSPS alerts haven't been working for others who have received EAD/AP or Green Cards. The system is completely different from the USCIS system which appears to be on a go-slow with letting people know about updates that have already happened.

Simon.

Thank you all for your kind words. I'm back home and trying to keep myself distracted so I don't feel so sad about my grandma's passing.

I wanted to share my experience coming back to the US using the combo card in case it is useful to someone.

I arrived at the Orlando airport and presented my passport and combo card to the POE officer. He was familiar with it and proceeded to take my fingerprints and photo and then escorted me to a secondary inspection area. This had already happened when I got here with my K1 Visa so it wasn't a surprise.

I waited there a whole hour with no instructions whatsoever. I started getting worried when they started calling people that had come into the secondary inspection way after me. After a while, a different officer called me and mentioned that I had appeared as a refugee (which I'm not) and that they have had to look further into my case but that it was all cleared out.

He asked me the motive of my trip and registered it in the computer. Then he stamped my passport and put the date and his officer number and I was good to go. I went as quickly as possible to pass through customs and catch up with my husband because I was sure he was worried about me. Not being able to use your phone inside immigration is a big hindrance.

I hugged him hard when I saw him. It is so good to be back home. (L)

Alex and I have been friends for 23 years. We met in Mexico City and kept in touch as our friendship grew. I'm sorry about your loss, Jannina (F) and glad you at least got to go to see your grandmother and say goodbye!

Thank you for sharing your experience coming back. It's a bit frightening when they make you wait without explanation but thankfully everything was resolved and you got to go back home!!

At immigration did you stand in line for the US citizens or for the aliens? I am wondering where to go when getting back. Being married to a US citizen and living in the US it seems I should go to the US line. Being a foreigner though I don't know if I should. I'd like to hear your experience on that :)

Thanks Soley for your kind words.

I looked into a couple of forums here in VJ to figure out what to do when arriving at immigration. The best advice I read was to ask once you get there, because each POE is different. In Orlando, they told me to get in line at the Visitors line.

I also read that if you travel with your significant other you can go to the Citizen's line, but it is best to ask.

The first officer that I saw was very nice and said that he would take my info and then send me to second inspection. I asked if I could do a bathroom break (coming out of the plane I missed the restrooms and panicked a little thinking they would find suspicious that I wanted to get out of their sight). He told me not to worry and before showing me where the second inspection room was, he let me know where the restrooms where.

I was treated respectfully. But the wait was too long.

Hope this helps and eases your worries. :)
