I just received a text message and an email that my wife's card is in production... Now someone tell me what to expect in terms of time line.... Will I receive a receipt in the mail and then a receipt that the card has been mailed or how does this work.... Or it just appears?? Lol I wish

Hey Buzzzzzzzzzzzz.....I know you're frustrated but have to tell you, you just crack me up non stop which has been a welcome relief from my normal thoughts of: why do they hate me and other nutty things that happen when you are in a waiting pattern

I've been following this site for quite some time now, reading a lot of frustrated posts...still, everyone is so polite and nice! Seriously, if only I had that EAD in my hand I'd be a milionare by now selling my new dictionary - you'd be surprised how many new words I came up with (especially when you look under the definition of USCIS)!!

Ugh, that is is ridiculous. How frustrating. You should definitely vent, that is what we're here for. Grrrr. I'm so peeved for you.

Have you signed your address up for the MyUSPS service? At least then you might be able to see if something is on its way to you as the package would be tracked on that system. Perhaps you already have or don't want to, but I thought I'd offer the suggestion to be constructive!

(note, the website asks to verify your identity, presumably using a credit file. I have no real credit file here yet presumably because my credit card companies haven't reported my credit cards to the credit reference agencies yet. As such, when I typed in my identity it came up with a load of irrelevant questions about financial products from years ago that I had never taken out. Instead, I got my wife to sign up and she just answered the questions herself... we log in on her account to check for incoming tracked mail, and we also signed up for text message/email alerts just so we don't have to check every day (but of course, I still do... cos paranoid).

Keep us updated Good thoughts in your (plural) direction! I wish I could just go for you to save you the trip haha! Luckily, there are a few options for you in this situation To absolutely slaughter an overused phrase in my home country: Keep calm... and (pack your) carry-on.

Ok... now you wait for about 3 weeks and wonder every day what could have happened and why you still haven't received it....you can come back here and b*** about it.... because we know how you feel. Once the 3 weeks pass.... you wait just a little longer for absolutely NOTHING to happen! Got it!??

...I'm kidding, I can't answer this question but I do wish you the best of luck and hope you don't have to wait that long

Just a quick update on our case, received the ead card today. And got an update on my gc, interview is set for the 17th of October. ?

Congratulations on everyone's progress! My husband and I finally received the date for our rescheduled interview! it's 18 October, day before my nameday! (we celebrate namedays back home) .. Good luck everyone!

Wonderful update. We had an infopass appointment today. Our case was assigned to a new officer who was great. She informed us everything is ready to go, and we were correct, our lawyer did not send the correct form the first time but she has it now. She didn't seem concerned that it was received following the initial application. She stated the only hold up is that his medical exam expired in June (1 year mark). She even said if we could get it back to her today she would be able to complete our case that day! Unfortunately the TB test takes at least 48 hours but the reassurance that is the last hold up is priceless. He is going to complete the medical exam next week and hand deliver it to her. Hopefully the end of next week will end this nightmare! Im so excited!!

Also our congressman office has been amazing following up with us. I sent them an email today with update so they can hold on inquiring based on how this goes next week.

I suppose the take away message from this is, don't rely on your lawyer to know/do everything. YOU are your best advocate! Definitely get a lawyer, but know the process! Our lawyer had never mentioned to us that our medical exam expired 3 months ago, they had our address wrong so the mail was being returned, they have gotten no answers in the 7 months following the approval of the form that they claimed we didn't need. I got on top of this beginning of September learning as much as I could and we are finally getting answers and movement on our own. And this was a lawyer specializing in immigration with many awards and lectures.

Congratulations on the progress ^.^ I will say, however, that having a lawyer is more often than not just a peace of mind thing. You know, legal person does legal paperwork. I'd say 90% of us have successfully gotten this far in the process without one and many more before us have gotten to the finish line. This website is full of information and even guides that will get anyone through the process sans lawyer. If you have a complicated history then probably seek legal advice but you don't 'need' a lawyer for AOS if there aren't any legal skeletons in your closet.

Ha ha...not a party at all Just love how you put it out there...today is my day. My USCIS account keeps logging me out and while it will let me create new passwords, it will say that I have had too many unsuccessful attempts after putting in the new one and logging me back out...urgghhhhhhh.....I just want to see when the card will come.

Apparently, trying to make my phone or computer fly out of frustration does not work either....go figure.

I keep referring to all my 'mistakes and mishaps' as 'new wife issues' like burning dinner because I was preoccupied with immigration but this one is definitely a 'new American issue'. I'm in the bible belt so I will pray for the mistreatment of my electronics. AND everyone here calls me 'hunny'.....def new American issues....
