I totally understand you. Our local office is on the same situation....working of November cases..... :clock::clock:

I was hoping to get lucky and skip the interview, but my status online is case ready to be scheduled an interview....so I think I am going to have one. I do not mind to go to the interview....it is just waiting until January which is so stressful .....

I know. At least yours says something other than "received". So I guess it is a matter of waiting some more. We want to start the process for my step daughter. More waiting but at least not to wait for a permit to work since she is only 6 yrs old ?

I just got texts and emails about my I-485 AOS from a K1 has been updated, and "A new card is being produced". Apparently the action was taken on 10th September but I only received the text/email today.

As an aside, I found out that my card was transferred from the NBC to the Field Office in Boise Idaho on 26th August, despite our legal address being in New Hampshire.

This is welcome news and I'll let you know what updates I get whilst things are produced.

SSN arrived this morning. I feel like I exist lol I never felt like I didn't but it's a pain when you need that number for just about anything.

Congrats to everyone receiving positive updates, packing for their jollies and having a great start to their week ^.^

I just read this below exchange (I've been so busy this past week that I've not beee able to keep up-to-date and contribute). I really hope my blunt message of news didn't come off as insensitive or braggy- that wasn't my intention at all. I hadn't got any emails from VJ for a while so I had just assumed it had all gone quiet, and I wanted to share some news with a group that I have come to value a lot.

I know. At least yours says something other than "received". So I guess it is a matter of waiting some more. We want to start the process for my step daughter. More waiting but at least not to wait for a permit to work since she is only 6 yrs old ?

I hope she is having fun - is you at school? I don't know much about the process for kids, but I hope she is having a fun time :)

I have found contacting the Tier 2 agents to have been quite useful to get updates beyond the online status. My status was showing as "Fingerprint Received" up until this morning.

I was hoping you'd get to skip the interview too. I can definitely also understand that the waiting is stressful. I've been a right wreck, as I imagine many have been from time-to-time here. At least we know when the interview will be for you... so there is more certainty! I guess that also means you can take some time off from immigration things and focus on everything else!

Excellent news! I found that the SSN card is so flimsy, unlike... say the UK National Insurance which is a proper piece of plastic! This SSN will be so useful - I agree that a lot of places want the number and it helps so much to have it (notably, however, I managed to get around some of those issues without an SSN. This included opening my own US credit card, opening up my own US bank account, opening a US joint bank account with my wife at a separate bank. I think I got really lucky and just happened to eventually get really good customer service agents who knew what to do though - it took a while because I hit a few brick walls at first!).

Let's get you all set up!!! :)

Thank you Simon! I will try definitely to take some time off from "my case status"....

Also I was wondering if it is safe to travel with AP? because I was reading that even with Advance parole "admission into the United States is not guaranteed even if the appropriate documents are obtained"

There are some posts on Visa Journey about a court case for two people who were denied entry with AP and they people won. I can't recall what it's called (keep thinking of Bridget Jones) but basically with AP you're fine.

for those that for SSN before getting EAD (my husband did - we needed for marriage license here in my hometown) the SSN says valid only with work permit. I am under the impression we don't have to update. And will have to update after we got Green card.

And a big woop woop to Those getting great news today.. Awesome way to start work week! Hugs and thanks everyone for keeping us calm and collected
