How far ahead of interview can wife take medical?

I want to know how far ahead of the actual interview date can my wife take her medical?

At this time, we do not have the actual interview date set yet. Our case was completed on the 13th..and sent to the embassy on the 15th of March. We expect an interview date around May.

The reason I ask is that although my wife has had US visas before (namely her J-1 which he originally entered into the USA with)......it has been many years since her first entry , which was 1993. So although she had to get a medical and vaccinations back then, prior to her entry into the USA.......she no longer has a record of them.

On the Ankara Embassy website, it does say that if you don't have your vaccination records with you, that the doctor will work with you to determine which ones you need, however..........as can be imagined.............if my wife ends up having to take a lot of shots, I would think it might be hard to take them all in one appointment. And if they have to be taken over a period of time (so they are not given all at once).....it will take more time that way.

So, I want to know if, even though we do not have the interview date set yet, nor have we received the "appointment" package" from the NVC..........if regardless, we can start getting the medical out of the way and do it sooner, rather than later?

You can get the medical done only if you have been assigned a case number by NVC. Some consulate requires you to do interview and medical on the same day. Make sure you find that out.

Call one of the doctors to find out what they need. In Colombia some of the doctors require the beneficiary to bring the actual interview letter.

We don't have an interview date yet, but he has an appt for medical set. Figure he can change it if needed, but got it to have it done. Check what the consulate/embassy requires. Each one is different. Check the embassy site for your country. Send an e-mail with your questions.

This is an excellent question. My fiance and I are in the same boat- he cannot access his childhood records from Rize in Northeastern Turkey.

We want to be as prepared as possible. Because VSC is moving so quickly, and staving off the Police Certificate (with a 3 month expiration date- fearful the interview will come after that).

But if he could clear his plate and get half of the vaccinations now, it would be great!

In Jamaica they require you to bring the interview letter. We are told to schedule the appointment 2 weeks before the interview.
