Hello,

We are considering hiring a nanny from Vietnam as Vietnamese people are famouse with hard working and very patient. So we would like to know some specific details by asking people on this site.

1. What kind of work visa we should fide a petition for her?

2. Is it possible to have a 4 years visa for her as we would love she stays until our kids go to kindergaten?

3. Where can we apply for that visa? And how long does it take to have her visa approved?

4. What is the process of doing that? Are there any specific requirements for us and for her?

5. Does she has to attend an interview in her own country before having the visa issued?

That is what we have in mind for now. If any of you know any more helpful news and how it goes, it will help us a lot as we never have done something like this before.

Thank you very much!

We love LA

you will be required to pay her minimum wage in your state, SS taxes and maybe even health coverage.

Done with K1, AOS and ROC

There are various agencies you go through who would are authorised to do this, not something you would do yourself.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

It sounds like you have someone in mind? That is not how it works, you cannot bring a friend or family member over on a work visa.

You CAN get an au pair via an agency, and they usually allow you to specify nationality. However, these are usually restricted to a year.

Thank you for the link Merry Tooth, as well Boiler and Penguin.

And for the rest of the replies, you guys are just like the dark cloud, when that cloud disappears, the day gets brighter. Your negative thinking properly slow you down in every aspect of life I guess.

We have hired 5 nannies for the last 2 years and no one can stay. They always said they love kids and very patient with children but at the end it turns out in opposite way. A friend of us who curently living in Vietnam because of her husband's job, introduces this lady to us.

Anyway, thank you for all !
