Original documents and Cd. Juarez Consulate

My fiancé and I are putting together all required documentation for his interview on 6/24/16 in Ciudad Juarez Consulate. On the list says The original civil documents will not be returned to the applicant/petitioner after the interview.

They clearly request original birth certificate but for the divorce certificate and the proof of the US petitioner's citizenship they do not ask for originals (see below)

Original birth certificate

Divorce or death certificate(s) of any previous spouse(s) for both you and the U.S. citizen sponsor

Proof of the petitioner’s U.S. citizenship. This might include a birth certificate or U.S. passport.

My question for anybody who had gone through this process in the Cd. Juarez Consulate is:

Is it necessary to submit my original divorce certificate and my original Certificate of Naturalization?

I know I will need both original documents for the future.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

My fiancée just went thru the process in Juarez and she had originals but all they did was look at them and gave them right back to her, they didn't keep anything original. They already had copies so maybe all they want to do is look at them and make sure you had the original in hand... or maybe the officer she had just didn't bother keeping them. Who knows, but I would take the original and make a photocopy of it because they can accept a copy as long as they verify the original I believe.

Thanks MariaR323! Congratulations to you and your fiancee on your recent K1 visa approval. I wish both of you much happiness.

I guess is better to have the originals in hand (just in case).

I just want to make sure we don't miss anything. We are so close to finally be together.
