Green Card for parents in the US

This is for US citizens who went through Adjustment of Status for their parents that came and lived in the US as tourists.

Please describe your experience. Was the process easy? What kinds of questions were asked? How long after their arrival did you file I-130 and I-485? Were there any issues about supposed visa fraud or false intent?

The law is clear that I am allowed to apply for AOS for parents that live in the US regardless of their status as long as they entered the country legally. In order to live in the US, parents should come at some point in time. I see on this forum that a lot of times the question to the OP is "are they here?" If the response is "yes," you say "go ahead with AOS." If the question is "no," you say "go through the embassy in their country." That is confusing, and that is how the law is written too. Suppose I knew nothing about immigration laws, and my parents were on their visit here in the US, and I looked up the law, I would feel confident with AOS, and would get some good input on this forum. Suppose now that I knew nothing about immigration laws, and my parents were in their country, and I looked up the law, I would all of the sudden be accused of wrong-doing on this forum if I consider doing AOS on their next visit and would not get any input because of visa fraud or false intent (since they were not in the US when I read the law). In either case, it is AOS for parents who are here. The difference is whether I learned about the possibility of AOS before or after they come. So, how do you define misleading, wrong-doing, fraud etc. in this situation? Or is it just lack of knowledge at a point in time? I hope that makes sense. If not, please address my questions in the first paragraph.

Thank you.

Suppose now that I knew nothing about immigration laws but you do and you were asked not to continue this discussion that started here , and my parents were in their country, and I looked up the law, I would all of the sudden be accused of wrong-doing on this forum if I consider doing AOS on their next visit and would not get any input because of visa fraud or false intent (since they were not in the US when I read the law).
