Thanks. That helps. How about your expedition? Have you submitted all the documents?

Yes, but they refused the expedite until nvc finishes, so that'll be in another 4-6 weeks :-/ But I also have my congressman calling them because now that my wife's car is wrecked, she has no way to get around and we can't afford to fix it, so hoping for a 'financial burden' expedite or whatever it's called.

Waiting for NVC to receive the package I sent to them, and then the clock begins for another 6-8 week wait. Just hoping my check and double check will pay off, and I can avoid any checklists. In my mind I am silently thinking what could I possibly get a checklist for at this point. I was meticulous with everything, explained any discrepancy. Provided everything I had that was required per their cover sheet. But I am sure they will ask me for something that will leave me baffled, and we will have to think of a way to come up with that requirement.

Praying it goes smooth

They receive your package ?

Completed DS-261 on 02/14/2017. Called them to see when the Fee bill for AOS will be generated.

They said that the initial set of instructions are still not sent to us, so they can not see our DS-261 yet.  Website still allows us to complete the form even though the instructions are not sent to us.

I guess we will just wait and watch. Hope they send fee bill soon.

Good luck everyone.

It took 2 business days for both invoices to clear and appear "paid" on my fee bill to show as paid.  Also before you send the AOS & IV packages make sure you print and attached the document cover sheet for both AOS & IV package, you can only print the document cover sheet after it shows paid.

Thanks for the tip. I will make sure to not miss anything. As per your timeline you took a month for AOS and IV packages to send to NVC. Was there a delay in compiling evidences?

Is there anything I can do to send the packages ASAP after the bills show paid?

Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

You do not have to wait for the bills to show paid before sending your package. You can print out the cover sheet once the AOS bill is invoiced. The AOS and IV documents are to be sent in one package arranged in the order it appears on the checklist received with the welcome email from nvc. I put the checklist on too, followed by the AOS cover sheet and the rest of the documents followed. Do not forget to mark the

checkboxes on the checklist. All the best!

There was no delay..I was actually with my wife during the holidays visiting her family.  And when I got back to the states I got busy with work and she also got busy with work,  I would the say the only real delay was getting the police certificates from her took about 3 days to get done plus 1 day to get it translated.  I over nighted my AOS & IV packages, via UPS, but thats up to you.  Also make 2 exact copies of everything that you're sending to the NVC.  I'm roughly 1 1/2 week in since my scan date, I've been on the other thread following up with what's going on.

Good luck!

Oh, okay. Thank you for that. We are yet to receive welcome email from NVC, though. We have pretty much compiled all the documents for both the packages, and will make necessary changes if and when required as per the welcome email.

Ok. The only difference is the time for reviewing documents has been increased to 8 weeks. The  advice has been to send the documents once you have the cover sheet while waiting to complete the rest of the payment and the ds261. It's however a matter of choice. I wish you all the best in the rest of your journey and hope you get to be with your family soonest.
