I called USCIS yesterday, they told me that we're 4 days past the expected time. They opened an inquiry on our behalf and said we should hear back between two weeks and 30 days :/

We got transferred to TX like many of you here about 25 days ago and on the 16th of Dec I got an update saying my application was received by my local office.

I called today to figure out what that means and was told it means we got transferred yet again to NY office where i, the petitioner, reside.

What the heck is that? Has anyone got similar updates? I feel like they are transferring my application all around causing delays, especially since the 180 day time line starts anew at each transfer.

Any input? It's been 210 days since I applied on June 1st.

First of all congratulations on the baby. I know it must be hard going through all this alone, but hey you should find happiness as and when you can get it.

 

This is frustrating to hear about the transfers and no replies. You should definitely contact your senator/ congressman regarding this. There are many cases where they were helpful in providing just the right amount of "push" in the right direction.

The normal processing deadline for each service center can be found here. As of Nov. 30, 2016, Nebraska was processing applications with a PD of July 2, 2016. If your PD is before that you can call and ask them for a review. However, I had forgotten you'd been transferred and it sounds like there's an additional 90 days after each transfer before your considered to be outside of normal processing time. So, it unfortunately, looks like you just have to wait it out.

 

All a senator or congressperson can do is to ask about the status of your application (yes their staff reaches out to the service center to inquire about your petition). I think by law the service center has to get back to them within a short time frame. Now, TECHNICALLY, that's all they can do. However, there are many instances documented on VisaJourney where contacting a senator/congressperson kind of shook things up and helped to move things along. Think about it - senators and congressman are important politicians. If they come knocking at the door, the service center will respond. However, don't get your hopes up too much. If your application is undergoing some kind of extra review or security review, there's nothing much even they can do. They cannot guarantee a favorable outcome. But at the least you might learn some new information about what's going on.

 

It is a bit strange to get transferred twice and a bit rarer to get transferred to a local center. Keep your chin up. Go ahead and start reaching out to your senator and congressperson. If you go to their website you can often find a "Constituent Help Services" section, which will provide information on how to get help with a case. After contacting them they'll typically ask for further details and ask you to sign a privacy waiver so they can inquire on your behalf. These things will take some time, so go ahead and get started now.

We are over 235 days now and still nothing regarding the case status put in earlier this month. How can I contact my Congressmans office? I just don't understand what's going on...........why have we been over looked????? I am heartbroken!!!

Go to your state's website. Locate your congressman's website. It will have the details on how to contact him/her regarding immigration issues. It usually asks to submit a form in order for them to inquire about your case details on your behalf.

Received notice this morning that my expedite request was under review.

They sent my case to NVC today (approval date: January 12th).

Called and talked to a #2 Supervisor today. Was told this kind of cases are taking 6 - 12 months to process. I said the application says 180. He says that is for normal cases, they might be doing more detail back ground checks and so forth. I asked him if President Trump has stopped immigration processes for Muslims and he said no and when the law changes to call back and ask him. As for my Case Status, call back on January 28th as it will be my 30 day mark for my request.
I asked him if he could tell me if my file is being worked on or if it's lost........ He said "It's being Processed" and I just have to wait.

Find out who represents you based on your district. Try to contact them and see. Involving senator/congressman definitely helps.

Does anyone know if myUscis status changes from "case was approved" to "case was sent to Department of States"?

Our NOA2 we received in mail reads that they have sent our case to NVC. Should we try calling NVC, or wait for the status to change?

Is it possible that the status on myUscis may not change now and they have actually sent our case to NVC?

You will get a welcome letter from the NVC. That is when you are able to call. You can call ahead if you like but be a little patient.

They sometimes take really long time to send us case number. That's the reason for my inquiry. I will be waiting for the said amount of time in NOA2. Thank you.

 

Did you send your AOS package and IV package separately? Or did you send them all after paying IV fees?

You will send them together in one package but separated in the package. I sent them after paying both fee's but i hear you can send them after paying the first one. I just wanted to make no mistakes.
