Hi everyone!

It's been a while for me to update being a busy new mom, but here is the deal.

We got transferred to TX like many of you here about 25 days ago and on the 16th of Dec I got an update saying my application was received by my local office.

I called today to figure out what that means and was told it means we got transferred yet again to NY office where i, the petitioner, reside.

What the heck is that? Has anyone got similar updates? I feel like they are transferring my application all around causing delays, especially since the 180 day time line starts anew at each transfer.

Any input? It's been 210 days since I applied on June 1st.

Congrats to all those who got approved!

Best

Anyone?

Hi everyone,

I spoke with an officer of a second tier and was told that my case is back in ny for investigation.

This is the second transfer after Nebraska to Texas n from Texas to ny.

She said it takes 90 days to process and it is way after my pd of June 2nd. When I asked what should I do now she said be patient and then she said why r u so anxious? That infuriated me. It's been 232 days where I spent my days pregnant away from my husband and now our baby is 2 months old.

What should I do now? There are many applicants with a later pd and were approved and all I'm told is be patient after 2 transfers. Is this a normal procedure???

Please let me know,  guys

Thx!

I wish I had a answer but it's the first time I've heard about this.

it May of been a mistake to transfer it in the first place so they had to transfer it back?

Shouldn't all offices be closed on a federal holiday?

Unfortunately, it's very common for applications to be approved out of order. It's unfortunate and can be infuriating, but it's just the way things are. Regarding getting transferred to a local office, from what I remember from reading past threads, it can mean one of two things - (1) due to backlog, they've simply transferred it to a local office to facilitate processing; they'll finish processing it at some point. (2) sometimes the local office will call you in for an interview to help validate your application. (2) doesn't happen often, but I have seen stories on VisaJourney. Unfortunately, all you can do is wait at this point. Have you tried contacting your local congressperson or senator? You're past normal processing and it might help to have a senator make an inquiry about your petition. This can help shake things up sometimes and may lead to an approve appplication.

I'm quoting what is written on the uscis official website.... '' Only capital region'' so people can make calls and find out about their cases.

Does anyone know what i should email to asknvc@state.gov to get my NVC process started ahead of time?

Nothing you can't get a head start. They can't and won't give you a case number until they get your case..

Thank you for your input!

Do you mean past the normal processing time as in the 180 days AFTER the transfer I hear in the automated msg when I call,  or something else? Also a second tier officer told me the processing time is 90 days after which I have to be patient and wait when I inquered what to do after the processing time elapses. Do you know where I could check the processing times?

Lastly, will contacting my senator help, I mean do they actually inquire on my behalf?

It's puzzling why my case had to be transferred 2 times. Once from NE to TX and then from TX to NY

I decider to make an appointment with the local uscis office and there are no appointments for the next 14 days! It's absurd. 233 days of just transfers!

Thx!

The normal processing deadline for each service center can be found here. As of Nov. 30, 2016, Nebraska was processing applications with a PD of July 2, 2016. If your PD is before that you can call and ask them for a review. However, I had forgotten you'd been transferred and it sounds like there's an additional 90 days after each transfer before your considered to be outside of normal processing time. So, it unfortunately, looks like you just have to wait it out.

All a senator or congressperson can do is to ask about the status of your application (yes their staff reaches out to the service center to inquire about your petition). I think by law the service center has to get back to them within a short time frame. Now, TECHNICALLY, that's all they can do. However, there are many instances documented on VisaJourney where contacting a senator/congressperson kind of shook things up and helped to move things along. Think about it - senators and congressman are important politicians. If they come knocking at the door, the service center will respond. However, don't get your hopes up too much. If your application is undergoing some kind of extra review or security review, there's nothing much even they can do. They cannot guarantee a favorable outcome. But at the least you might learn some new information about what's going on.

It is a bit strange to get transferred twice and a bit rarer to get transferred to a local center. Keep your chin up. Go ahead and start reaching out to your senator and congressperson. If you go to their website you can often find a "Constituent Help Services" section, which will provide information on how to get help with a case. After contacting them they'll typically ask for further details and ask you to sign a privacy waiver so they can inquire on your behalf. These things will take some time, so go ahead and get started now.

"Why are you so anxious?"  Honestly that was frustrating just for me to read, I can't imagine how mad you must have been to have them ask you that.  I mean, really?  Aside from your being pregnant without your husband and now having a little one, anyone going through the immigration process and wanting to be reunited with their loved one(s) is going to be anxious!  You have my sympathy, fitleo; I hope you hear something really soon!
