That chart has nothing to do with USCIS, they can't see it nor do they follow it. That chart is from Visajourney, it just estimates based off some algorithm that calculates the trend of cases approved. But it's all based on user input. So the people that create timelines and don't update them or abandon the site altogether, kind of throw a wrench in the works. The chart moves along calculating that a percentage of people from each month abandon their timelines.

It has been fairly accurate for Texas though. And most likely for Nebraska, the date it shows is the most recent case approved. But as we know, Nebraska is working all over the place with cases.

As for priority dates, those don't matter for this type of visa. Our priority dates are "current" immediately, so it's not a big deal to go off of. They just need to be able to put something in the priority date box.

Does that mean that they process them in no particular order?

It would appear so. The standard line from USCIS is that they do process in order received, but that's clearly not the case when some people are approved in 1 month and others in 5 months.

Well that's just beyond frustrating...

What was your service center?

Potomac. From what I've been reading on this forum, it depends on what service center your application is sent to. Honestly I'm quite shocked at how quickly my visa application was approved.

I just found out we were approved on the 5th of August. We did not receive the text or email and the USCIS website still shows that the case was received on 17th June. Hubby received the hard copy this evening

so question.I need help understanding the chart for processing times. last month it said field processing dates for Nebraska servicing center was May 31, 2016 (my date) then of course under I-130 it says 5 months for time frame. Now they updated it to say that they are processing dates as of June 30, 2016. Is that true and does anyone know what was the last number processed through Nebraska? Nothing has change on the web site. and I know it is still within the 5 month processing times. But I am just confused.

Some good news to share, we were at the Embassy getting the CRBAs for our youngest children and an immigration officer was kind enough to take some time to answer a few questions for us. YMMV, but she said there's no reason my wife can't request an ESTA or a B-2 visa for visiting, especially given that we have four young kids. So it looks like she'll be able to come and visit for a few months near December! Only a few months apart, which is MUCH MUCH better than goodness knows how long for the whole IR1 thing.

She also told me to ask for an expedite once the visa gets to the NVC, because they're Department of State and work directly with the embassies; apparently what happens is, NVC gets an expedite request, looks to see if the person requesting has submitted all of their paperwork, and then just emails the embassy or consulate to say, "hey, can you take this early?" And she said that she usually accepts those expedites as long as there's no missing paperwork.

So a nice breather from all of this stress...
