Hi everybody , i had a job interview with a company 13 days ago, the interview was simple, easy , the Director who interviewed me told me he will send me an email to complete an assessment, then may be meet someone who is responsible for something...he said the screening is just part of the interview and there is no fail or pass, in any way i have completed the assessment days ago& was waiting for their call but there was none, except an email t i received asking for Pre-employment screening- and the name of the company i had my interview with the email the email ask for my SSN and Authorization for background check , i don't know why the company didn't call me, or email me. Should i complete the pre-employment screening or not?

Thanks

Hmmm, sounds weird. When you were at the interview, didn't they have you fill out a form with info for background checks? Have you tried calling the company who wants to hire you and ask about the email?

You should not send your SSN number in email if that's what they ask. Because of the risk of identity theft.

Yes, normally they offer the job then they ask for the SSN and ......, but i didn't hear anything from the company i had my interview with, this is weird that's why i didn't feel comfortable send my SSN and my Information replying to the email i'm receiving for the 3rd time from company i guess it offer background check , the email is titled with Pre-screening employment - and the name of the company i had the interview with

I would call the company you interview with or email the person you were interview by and ask about it. I understand why they would want to do a pre-employment screening, specially if they want to check your work eligibility, however, you should have given then your information and authorization for a background check in person. I would call first, and ask the safest way to send over your SSN.
