Hi, guys! I'm in Heaven! I've got the approval letter today in mail and i have go say : thank you Uscis and you, guys. You are awesome! This letter came just in time, because i have to go to doctor and without with I didn't know what to do. This waiting is so stressful and hard to handle it, especially when you depend on this card.

Again: thank you, guys and thank you Uscis. :)

No worries, Tekno. I figured you were having a bad moment there. Rock on,

Jim

Thanks Jim - appreciate that. Again, I wasn't aiming at you. We're all in this together and I really hope we all get the result we want.

I am a straight talker, call a spade spade, but I should be a little more supportive rather than tell people off.

It is a tricky business and I see how it can confuse and frustrate many people, and I should support, rather than take my frustrations out on people having a hard time.

So so I apologise to the board for being a bossy boots. I am on all your sides. And wish you all success in your applications!

Great news bruins! Seems like VSC are out doing CSC and they are going to have to pull their fingers out!

Ok I'm on best behaviour and I know it's not your fault. It's the ignorance of the lender.

This is a problem many of you seem to be coming up against - and that is the lack of understanding of what "I551" actually is.

How do we get around this?

Be armed with documentation. Show people that an I551 is the immigrant visa class that you hold. The fact that it is a stamp in a passport or a piece of green plastic is irrelevant. Or it should be.

Sadly for all of us, this is all too frequent. So we need to be prepared to show people like lenders, and driver licence agencies and anyone else who doesn't realise that I551 is your status, not the presence of a piece of green plastic. And if you get into bother with this, have your immigration attorney intervene on your behalf.

You have nothing to worry about with I551 in your passport. It is proof you are a permanent resident. End of.

I have a quick question about someone who is typing up their affidavit for someone filing an I-751 form.

They are saying that they need the date of birth, address and place of birth for the person they are typing up the affidavit about.

I had not heard this before, and only thought that the affiant included their own info on the affidavit. Considering the fact that the affidavit is about their knowledge of the couple and proof of who they are.

can anyone confirm either way?

no need to put  place of birth  of the person .   address, name and phone number .

Thank you. I've setup email and phone notifications on the uscis website for my case but it did not send anything nor the case updated online. Nothing yet, just letter in the mail so there is hope.

I have noticed that Eks1022 - I wonder if that is the "VSC need to catch up excuse" or the CSC is on some staff shortage no resource to work on it and I 751 is lowest priority so whatever - excuse. Who knows.......  I don't think anyone does. Hey ho.

Thanks Togovi, That's actually a really good informed and helpful post for us all, a reminder not to rely on the email and text notification.

When you got your letter, had your status updated online already?

I'm trying to use my (blond) brain to see if any pattern whether status updates after letters sent, or the same day, or just random.

Thanks again for the very useful input and congrats on your status change!

Exactly 1 year today from the receipt of my i751 at CSC.

NOA1 - June 10, 2016.

Looks like we're in for a long ride. Congratulations to everyone that got an approval and Good luck to all of us waiting.

Hopefully CSC keeps their game up because this drastic slowdown is ridiculously unbelievable.

~AOS : 09/11/2014 - 2 YR Green card received!.

~ROC 07/13/2017 - 10 YR Green card received!.

~N-400 : 10/28/2020 - N400 Interview & Approval/Oath Ceremony/US Citizen!
