I am only speaking for myself, who is bilingual and speaking English as a second language. I would assume that my American husband who only knows English language can know better and interpret English.

Fair enough - your English as a second language comes across perfectly - I wouldn't have known if it didn't say you were from the Philippines. My Tagalog stretches to 3 words.  One of those is a swear :D

I was only trying to explain the date clearly and slowly, because many people on this forum are still unable to grasp the concept.  I hope you understand it a little clearer now. And FWIW, your husband may be an English speaker, but he interpreted the expiry date incorrectly.  It's easy mistake to make.  Just saying.

A bit confused as to how to read the processing times chart. So field office processing dates for CSC are 3/31, 2017, and what is the date of June 7th? Something in general? Will most of our applications eventually end up in filed offices?? SO if that's the case, maybe they are already working on June or July since the update for the filed offices is 3/31..Anyone?

Ok. Here's what the different dates mean.

  1. The date on the bottom right (where it says "Last Updated: May 23, 2017" is the date the webpage was updated.
    • that means that someone put those dates online yesterday, May 23rd.
  2. The date at the top of the page (where it says "Field Office Processing Dates for California Service Center as of: March 31, 2017) is the date that this data was current.
    • that means that the rest of the data on the form is not what CSC is processing now, in May, but rather what CSC was processing on March 31st, 2017.
  3. The date in the chart that refers to I-751s (below) is the date that CSC was processing on March 31st, 2017.
I-751 Petition to Remove the Conditions on Residence Removal of lawful permanent resident conditions (spouses of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents June 7, 2016
    • That means that CSC was processing applications dated June 7th, 2016 on March 31st, 2017, and they're reporting that to us on May 23rd, 2017

Does that help make sense of the dates?

As far as the field office question, it seems as though some (but not all) applications are sent, eventually to field offices. Some are approved or given RFEs directly from the Service Centers, and then others are sent for further processing to the local field offices, where some are approved directly, some are issued RFEs and some have interviews. I suspect that more complex cases that might require interviews are sent to the field offices, and the more straightforward ones are dealt with at the service centers... But I don't know that for sure.

Is your timeline updated?

Wow, thanks for your excellent explanation. I have been reading it wrong all along then. So there's hope. Fingers crossed, maybe by August we will all be approved..

This is such a comprehensive explanation and folks who wouldn't get the clear idea now will understand. USCIS at this point is definetly working on June end or July filers or may be August, the data is almost 2 months old but this puts USCIS in a safe place. Good luck to everyone and thanks for such a nice post.

I agree with you on the post. It's excellent and clearly explains the dates.

On the section I highlighted in your comment, USCIS is certainly not working on those dates. There have been barely a few early June approvals and most June filers are still waiting to see any updates on their cases. Most likely it's going to take USCIS CSC the entire June and probably July to adjudicate June 2016 filers.

July and August 2016 filers, I will guess somewhere between August - November 2017. USCIS CSC has significantly slowed down! Between November 2016 and May 2017, they have only been approving May 2016 cases and a few early June 2016 cases. That averages about 1 month's filings in 6 months processing time.

If you look at the VJ timeline current processing time it tells you CSC June-30-2016 and i saw a CSC June-21-16 filer approved in February. Since they have so much work to do they can not update every week. We don't get the accurate data from USCIS.

Makes sense but VJ timelines are usually not worth much.

You're better served looking at the filer's thread and the filing table each thread keeps (if updated) to get a good sense of where they are at.

For instance if you look at the June 2016 filer's thread, you will see a vast majority of folks with NOA dates greater than 06/07/2016 are still awaiting approvals. Yes, there are a few random cases where later NOA dates are approved but they are usually the exception rather than the norm.

Yes you are right dear but we can not get the accurate data from anywhere. VJ June-2016 thread got 29% approval rate untill last Monday which is not bad considering hundreds of thousands of people don't use VJ and we don't know their progress. I was looking at the June thread a while ago and some filers got their approval in December 2016, February and April 2017. It also depends on the cases. Are you a June-2016 filer ?

I agree with you on that. No consistency when it comes to USCIS :-)

Oh and I just realized you're down here in OR as well.

I'm in Portland and this week has been beautiful weather-wise. Hope you've had great weather where you are as well.

HI All. my wife and I submitted our I751 in June 2016 to Vermont. We just got a request for more evidence. Not going to lie, kind of freaking out. They pointed out in the letter that the tax return I sent was not the actual confirmed receipt , which is my fault I will send this along  with our most recent joint tax return too, and they also mentioned that the joint lease I sent was only the first page of the lease and not the entire document, again, my fault I will send this along. I am a little worried as my wife and I were living with family during the first year or so, and didn't really start getting relevant docs until 2016. I am getting sworn affidavits from my wife's family relating to this.   I also didn't start full time work until the summer of 2016, so I now have my wife as a beneficiary on my work life insurance and she is on my work dental plan, I plan on sending all this along too.  I'm just worried since a lot of our docs are for the past couple of years and not all the way back to 2014. Any thoughts, I'm Canadian, and interview would seem bizarre at this stage, and my wife and I have been living together since 2009, and married since 2014.

Make sure to include a cover letter listing the evidence you're including and also an explanation of why most of your evidence doesn't start until 2016. It will be fine, and frankly, an interview at this stage should be easy... you'll get the chance to sit side by side and demonstrate the fact that you're "really married" and it's always easier to explain things in person than on paper anyway.

Don't worry - you'll be fine

Yes. Yes, they should. (And it's ridiculous that they dont!) Boy, when I'm queen of the world, there are going to be some new rules around here! :D
