The letter extension is good for 1 year from the date when it's written.

I know that's what the people you spoke to told you, but the vast majority of us who have asked USCIS had them respond that the letter extends for one year from the expiry date on your green card. That's why the policy was that they wouldn't give a stamp until one month before the green card expiry date (+1year). It's confusing and SOOOOO frustrating when different people at USCIS give us conflicting information, but the people at the actual USCIS offices (actual USCIS employees, not subcontracted phone operators) tell us that the letter extends our green card validitiy for one year. Not from the date on the letter, but from the date on the card.

So my wife's I-751 was received at CSC on 2 June 2016; we are still waiting. Is everyone in the same situation ? We've called so many times and no real answers. I've tried to follow this thread but ......     So anyone hear any good reasons why June 2016 filers at CSC are taking so long?

I don't think anyone knows the real reasons. All I heard from unconfirmed sources is I-751 cases have very low priority, they probably only spend 1-2 days every month on processing I-751 case.

It may also depend on other factors such as the priority and speed at which the immigration officer the case is assigned to processes it. That can explain why the cases are processed randomly and not necessarily in the order of a queue (first-in first-out). Compounding that with RFEs etc. can make the processing delay even longer.

Just my thoughts though.

Today is exactly 10 months since I filed.

Somebody mentioned somewhere here on VJ that his case was transferred from VSC to CSC in March. I also read somewhere that CSC is processing VSC cases. That would explain why CSC worked 3 months on May's petitions. Ridiculous.
