I received a call this morning from USCIS. Unfortunately I missed it and the lady left a voice message. I'm not sure why they called but she only said she was calling from the USCIS regarding my i751.

She called from this number : 213-334-3502 and it doesn't go through when I try to call back.

she left her agent number and everything so it looks legit. She also asked me to call back on their 1-800 number.

I'm not sure why they called on a Saturday though. Seems weird.

oh and when I checked my case status through my account, it listed a referral number as being assigned to an officer today and a second status saying the inquiry was closed though I never initiated any inquiry!

the general case status though says 'case received.. blah blah'

Anyone else experienced this??

Just checked mine...case received.. same old blah blah blah

I have experienced this. Read my post here:

I was out of the country so the IO called my husband. 3 days after the call, we received the approval letter in the mail :)

Good luck! I think that is a good sign.

Thanks for the info.

I went ahead and gave them a call this morning. Long call waiting time of about 300 minutes so I scheduled a call back. I will keep everyone posted on what happens.

I Have a question concerning the case status on the USCIS website.

If I look up the number that is on the NOA I received when i first sent my file I have a message saying that they received my case, but if i understand correctly the real case number is the one that is on the letter extending my green card expiration date by one year. but when I look it up on the website I have a message saying that the number was recognized.

So, I'm curious to know if it's normal? does it happen to anyone else?

Thank you

Yes. It is normal. The first number in your extension letter is an acknowledgement of I-751 application received. The one with which you are able to track your case status is the case number for CRI89

In case status tracker too, it will say your form "CRI-89 petition has been received bla bla"

So if there is any changes to my case it should show up under the CRI89, right?

UPDATE:

I just got the return call from USCIS.

The agent just asked me to confirm my address and full name and informed me my case is within processing time and it should be adjudicated within a year. I asked him what the current status is and he said it's 'pending review'.

I never initiated any inquiry or anything so I'm not sure why the first agent called on Saturday. This agent provided no information on why they called on Saturday. Nothing makes sense anymore.

It sounds like you caught a random agent that isn't working on your case so they gave you the company line. But that is just my take.

I agree.

I was trying to get him to tell me why they called me out of the blue on Saturday or at least route me to the agent who called but he just said, my case is pending review and it will be adjudicated within a year. That doesn't tell me anything..

Hopefully, it was just a routine call but I doubt USCIS does routine calls like that so I believe it must be for a reason. I just hope it's not something important that I missed. If it is, I hope they call back again.

My gf has been waiting since June and has not received a single phone call. She called to check early January and was told 6-8 months.

Looks like depending on which agent you catch on a given day they give you random future date.

It will be 10 months for me next Monday.
