 Why do you say that about the Vermont office? It depends on where you are located but even then they could have moved you to another office. They typically notify you if they move your case to another office.

 

my gf is June and she has been waiting. She called early January and they gave her a "broad stroke" timetable like 6-8 months"

I'm updating the spreadsheet and adding one filer from the May 2016 thread who got approved.

The filer sent their application in May but USCIS received it on June 3rd which should be their NOA date as well. So technically they are a June filer.

So for the VSC filers, can we make an InfoPass appointment to get a stamp just as a precautionary measure like this early on? Or does it have to be closer to when the one year extension expires?

I don't think so... although there are some conflicting reports. I may try it out if I need to this summer - there's that "grey area" between the letter date and the green card date that I'm nervous about travelling during. So if I'm not approved in time and I'm still feeling nervous, I'm going to go and give it my best try. 

 

Re: getting an InfoPass appointment - the computer releases new times (2 weeks out from the current date) at midnight. So go on their website 2 weeks before you need to go in, at 12:01 and all the appointments for the 14th or 15th day should be available.

I received a call this morning from USCIS. Unfortunately I missed it and the lady left a voice message. I'm not sure why they called but she only said she was calling from the USCIS regarding my i751.

 

She called from this number : 213-334-3502 and it doesn't go through when I try to call back.

 

she left her agent number and everything so it looks legit. She also asked me to call back on their 1-800 number.

 

I'm not sure why they called on a Saturday though. Seems weird.

 

oh and when I checked my case status through my account, it listed a referral number as being assigned to an officer today and a second status saying the inquiry was closed though I never initiated any inquiry!

 

the general case status though says 'case received.. blah blah'

 

Anyone else experienced this??

At least it seems they work on weekends and are looking at our cases..which is a good thing. It however doesn't make sense why they called though.

This has happened before, and it's definitely worth your while to call back... when people have gotten calls from USCIS it seemed to be that they were verifying a few details (like checking to see that you and your spouse are still living together) and then the people tend to get approved without an interview, shortly thereafter!

It's not too common, but it does happen so go ahead and call them back as soon as you can!
