FINALLY received my card in the mail today!  All in all, it took exactly 9 months from when I filed to when I received the green card on hand. 

 

Good luck to everyone still waiting! Hopefully, the approval today by another June filer is a good sign that CSC is finally starting to work on June filers completely.

I'm hoping this approval isn't an outlier case so we don't have false hopes.

Seeing how CSC randomly approved 2 June filers about a month and 2 months ago and nothing happened afterwards, I'm hoping this is not a similar case.

 

We have just 10 more days until April and it will officially be 5 months of processing for May 2016 filers. I can't even wrap my head around why it's taking them sooooo long to process May 2016 applications! Whatever is causing the delay isn't helping as new i751 applications will continue to be filed every month and will pile up. Compounding that with the new Administration's freeze on Federal employee hiring... the least said the better!

 

This looks like it will only get worse.

Whatever happens you/we just have to wait.

Trying to find an explanation doesn't make sense and makes everyone more stressed about it.

Hello. I have been already waiting for ten months.and my I 797 letters will bexpire soon .I need go out of the country. So annoying

U said it all malealpha. Before we filed every one was talking about how csc was moving faster from 4 to 6months. Look now, its frustrating and the question i keep asking is why us? I just don't care about what they will do by this time. Is been 10 worrisome months.

30 days before your extension expires (which means one year after your green card expires, not one year from the issuance of the letter) you can make an infopass appointment to get an I-551 stamp in your passport, which will further extend your proof of status for another year. Then you can use that to travel.

I am also worried about. If I get an interview by mail during I m out of the country I will miss an interview.

That is certainly a valid concern. 

Do you have someone who can check your mail? If you get the notification of your interview, you should be able to reschedule it, so if you really need to leave the US before you get a decision, you probably can. Just make sure that someone is checking your mail and then, if you get an interview notification they could scan and email the letter to you and you could contact USCIS to reschedule, or cut short your trip to return in time.
