Mine says case received as well.

I also have 2 receipt numbers. But when I go online check my status it says " Name was updated." I have no idea why it says that since I haven't requested any name change :(

I apologize for the late update. My biometrics was three days ago on the 20th. It was very quick. Appointment was 9am. Reached there at 8:35am and was back in my car at 9am.

My case status on still says "Case received."

Correct, the first one does not bring up anything and the second one does. And also instead of "Form I-751" it should say "Form CRI-89."

So basically are we all just in limbo until we get approved or receive an RFE? No other communication on our cases being that ROC can take several months longer than AOS?

Yeah so it seems. It seems even CSC is running a bit slow lately. In some of the other forums, there are a lot of people who filed in January and still haven't heard anything after the biometrics.

Regarding your question, it seems the USCIS doesn't send out any other communications till they either send an RFE or adjudicate the case. At least the wait time now isn't unbearable unlike at the AOS stage.

~AOS : 09/11/2014 - 2 YR Green card received!.

~ROC 07/13/2017 - 10 YR Green card received!.

After biometrics, does the case status stay as "case received" till they open the file to decide and send the approval letter? Just want to make sure if I should expect "case received" to be the status for the months to follow while we wait.

Yeah the case status remains as 'case received..' till they complete adjudication or send an RFE.

I have read a few instances where they update certain profile information such as address, DOB and it reflects as such in the status.

Oh my gosh, so sorry, saw this post just now, haven't been on here for a month.

The receipt date is 6/10/16. And filed with Vermont.

The biometrics letter was received on July 2nd, dated for July 26, but I had to reschedule for the 29th because husbaND was going to be out of country. Had no problem rescheduling, with only days remaining for the original date. Now we wait for either an interview request, or straight out receiving the gc :)

Thanks

Sarah,

What is receipt date on your NOA? Thanks! Trying to update the spreadsheet.

Hah! I didn't realize this until I read your post :D ours is the same way apparently :D selective reading I have.

Yeah it's weird how they put only the first name's initial. I wondered same too and realized it's the norm after reading about similar experiences here.

Please disregard my submission. We filed with a fee waiver (my husband had an accident and was out of work for months which put us very behind) which got denied. We are now scrambling to get the money together to refile within the next few weeks. We will now be August filers. Thanks!

Seems like that will be the case from what I have seen in the other user forums. Seems CSC has slowed down as well to about 7 months. VSJ is over a year. I wonder why the Federal gov't can't field more personnel to handle cases considering the volume of applications will continue to rise each year and besides all these applications come with fees so it's not as though USCIS do not have the money.

Because this is government, not a private company. It's financed from public money and has a yearly budget planned ahead.

If a private company experiences increase of customers will hire more people to provide the best customer service to keep it's customers, the market is usually very competitive.

If a public office experiences backlog will not do anything: a) expenses are already planned, b) there is no competition. :)
