Received a letter from USCIS on Friday. I've been called for an Interview.

Must admit I'm pretty disappointed. I know sometimes interviews are selected at random, but can't help but feel a little down that the letter wasn't to inform me of an approval.

I'm not too worried about the interview itself, I know my wife and I will breeze through it, but the worst part is that it isn't for another six weeks! Then, as far as I've read on here, you don't get an answer for a couple of weeks or so after that.

So looks like I have another couple of months to go before I can even hope for an approval. And now I have to gather a whole bunch of documental proof of our ongoing relationship all over again. This sucks.

Just curious.  Did USCIS ask you to do another biometrics as I heard rumors that after 15 months the initial biometrics expires?

The interview letter did not mention anything about needing to redo the biometrics, and the letter is the only correspondence I have received from them.

So just another four weeks till the interview, which will hopefully put the wheels in motion for an approval after a (still ongoing) 17 month wait.

I feel you man! I filed on July 11th and got an RFE last week.  I feel our marriage couldn’t be more bona fide. We submitted a whole lot of evidence. But still, USCIS was so caught up on our lease. Because my spouse had a breaking lease record, he could not be put on the lease. Now we are stuck here waiting for our attorney drating an affidavit letter to attest the reason why he was not on my lease.

Yes, I did that and 10 days ago I received a mail responding to my service request saying that they would send me another RFE and it would reach me within 30 days. I always got responses for my service requests within 2 weeks, but for some reason the RFE never comes.

This might sound strange, but I believe you could contact your Congressman and ask them to intervene the process.

We reached out to our Congressman before while waiting too long during our 2 year GC process (same situation as you are in right now - RFE never came in the mail), and the problem got solved within a week or two.

I mean, it's worth a shot.

Thanks for the advice. I finally got the RFE on 10/29 and submitted all of my evidence today.

NOA: June 29th

Service Center: CSC

Got I-551 Stamp August 28th. Today went to see if there was any further development and was told on September 21, 2017 and RFE was issued/sent. However, I have not received a single piece of mail about RFE neither has my attorney. I have seen that this has been a reoccurring issue with CSC. The part that makes this complicated is if the deadline is 60 days(is it usually 60 days or more?) then I have time to respond. Is there such thing as responding without the RFE notice and just send all the documents you may have? tax returns, joint assets, trip information, utility information? My logic is I rather send something and at least meet a deadline versus missing a deadline and then the possibility of denial. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

After our congressman contacted USCIS, they finally started moving my case... We recieved a letter of RFE.

I was very dissapointed having waiting for 16 month. Whey coudn't they send us letter sooner??

Now we are trying to gather paperworks and all we need is tax transcript, requestedy by mail.

Hope they will arrive soon. Documents are abobout 3 inch thick now.

Did you happen to know if your deadline to respond to RFE had a new deadline since they had to resend it? If so what was the deadline? 60 days? 90 days?

It took me exact 10 days for those transcripts to arrive from the date of request
