Oh man, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. It has been said here in the forum that our i-551 stamp requests can be done at any office, regardless of your state. That officer must have been having a terrible day and wasn't professional enough to keep it separate. I am also mad at her for giving you only a 6 month stamp. What the hell?

 

When I got my stamp a couple of weeks ago, the officer was genuinely nice. She even asked how I pronounce my name, usually nobody cares during official business. 

 

You know we have two receipt numbers, one from the initial acceptance, and one from the biometrics letter. When inquiring case status, the receipt number from the initial letter gives no result, BUT that is the number that USCIS puts on your stamp. I was worried about this and asked, and the officer said, this is the number WE use to track it. Now I've learned that that receipt number is not useless :)
