I got my i-551 stamped this week. It was very quick and very efficient process.

Also, I am not sure if it is just me but It seems like in the past few weeks the approvals are coming a lot faster than they did between Jan-Jun 16. With this momentum we may be eventually have lesser wait periods.

Hi all,

My NOA is 06/17/2017. I received a RFE yesterday in the mail demanding more document. I am compiling the documents to send but my main concern is, I requested a change of address sometime last month and my phone conversation with a tier 2 officer last week confirmed that the my new address has been updated. I originally sent my ROC packet to CSC. The service center for my new address is VSC. Does anyone know if USCIS will transfer my file to my new service center or would it not matter that my service center changed and they will proceed to adjudicate at the VSC.

I need to know this so as to send my RFE response to the appropriate service center address.

Thanks

Hey team I am:
06/27/16   07/01/16   07/18/16   ??/??/17 processed at CSC

Also, i'm having trouble booking an infopass appointment. There are never any available appointment times. I've been trying every other day for the last couple of weeks. Any ideas?

I've answered this question a few times already - so hopefully I'm getting quite good at it - I'll try and make the points brief.

1.  They seem to open the appointments for 14 days later, at midnight - I don't personally know if this is EST, CT, MT or PT.  I would start looking at midnight ET.

2.  Check every day - not every other day.  and keep checking during the day - if time allows.  I got my Infopass in DC for 48 hours later by just logging on and there was one time right in the middle of the day - so you just never know when one might appear. Cancellations happen all the time.

3.  Check offices within reach of your area.  Immigration is Federal, so you do not have to only appear at your local USCIS office. Technically any will accept you, though some have a few caveats attached - notably Los Angeles USCIS claim they will only see "local applicants", though how legal that is, I'm not sure.  I am a Miami resident and my infopass was in Washington DC, so if there is another office near to Minneapolis you can get to, then go there.  I don't know about your metro area, but Miami we are lucky in that there are 4 USCIS offices within 2 hours drive of metro Miami, one of which always seem to have appointments (Kendall).

Hope some of those tips help you - good luck.

My NoA is 06/17/2016. Got RFE!!! NO financial documents like bank a/c, tax returns etc were requested just joint house lease/deed/mortgage, birth cert of children if any born to us, and utility bills with both our names.. .

surprised though not shocked as it is from  USCIS!

Have the copy of house deed and some latest vacation trip tickets, photos, tax return of 2016 (though not asked, planning to send) that happened after our filing last year. My hubby is settled in this country for >25 years and have all utilities in his name, (birth cert of kids not applicable for us)... ready to go by early next week

Thanks for the info. I will set my alarm.

I did speak to someone at USCIS. They said CSC was up to June 20 applications, so hopefully mine will come in soon. The lady also said that I am not at risk of deportation while my application is being processed and I would only need an INFOPASS stamp if someone was needing documentation. e.g. For travel or for an employer.
She also said that, in case of emergency, I could just show up at a local office and plead my case and they would likely accept me on site without an appointment.

Happy waiting everyone.

I only received an email update of my card in production. The text messages came 2 days after. I received another email and text message when my card was mailed out. When I received the card, there was also the approval letter in the mail box and I noticed it was dated about 4 or 5 days prior to the date I received the card in production email.

From what other's have posted as well, I deduced that USCIS approves the application and mails out the approval letter (VSC letters arrive earlier than the CSC letters). However it is important to note that approvals do not cause any case status update. Only card production and card mailed out updates cause a status change and the corresponding notifications sent out.

~AOS : 09/11/2014 - 2 YR Green card received!.

~ROC 07/13/2017 - 10 YR Green card received!.

~N-400 : 10/28/2020 - N400 Interview & Approval/Oath Ceremony/US Citizen!

More Importantly, I am a proud Anti-Fascist!

When I was in the LA office last week, folks were simply showing up without an appointment.  They had kiosk terminals onsite for folks to register to get a number and wait. I have no idea how long the wait was for them as I had an appointment and was out of building within 15 minutes or so.
