Hey guys,

So I just wanted to add an update. With my last case inquiry I never got a response, and when I call tier 2 officer told me my case was assigned to an officer and I should hear back soon. No response since. I went for a infopass appt and was told it is pending and they can see my i751 is in the same folder with my n400. I was still hoping to get GC because my passport, old GC and extension letter are all expired. I know, great, right?

So since it has been a month since my 1st inquiry, I submitted a 2nd one. Today I got a reply. See pictures.

It has been 1 year and 1 month and 11 days since my noa. I guess now it's official, another year to wait. At least I am in line for N-400 😊

I got the same reply on Monday. Hopefully tho it doesn't take another year for n400. Fingers crossed.

At my field office, it is 2 weeks short of a year! 😕

I've just called USCIS and asked: "Sir, can you tell me why now it takes more than a year to process I-751 while just half a year ago it took only 5-6 months?". And he said this is because they received 3 times as more applications during pre-election period since people tried to do it before a new president gets elected. However, it makes no sense to me for 2 reasons: 1. Everyone was sure that Clinton would win so they were not supposed to worry about Trump. 2. How is it possible for application filing to fluctuate if you must file exactly during a period of 3 months preceding the expiration date on your GC. If you have to file from June 1st to August 31st, then you file from June 1st to August 31st and you have no choice. I can say exactly that delays started from applications filed in April 2016. It means, if to believe his words, people who could file from April 1st to July 1st of 2016, suddenly realized that Trump may win and kick out everyone. So June, May and April filers all filed in April and then  July, June and May filers all filed in May and so on and so forth.  Also I asked: "Sir, so do you mean that this is not because they now look into each case very closely and call everyone for interview?." And he said no.  Does it sound reasonable to you?

Lots of people are still waiting, so don't be too concerned... you might as well put in a service request since you're "outside normal processing times" (official time out of USCIS for CSC is June 15) It probably won't make much difference, but at least you're doing something!

Good luck!

Thanks!! My husband actually already put in a service request when he called in yesterday, so here's hoping that we hear something back soon.

According to this chart, they actually say they were processing August 4, 2016 naturalization applications as of May 31, 2017, which would be just a smidge under 10 months, not 2 weeks short of a year... but that's an awfully small consolation. :-(

I hope you are right!! I haven't noticed these dates to match the reality...

My local office definitely one of the slowest so it should be quicker for most of you!

Good luck 😉

It's not much, but at least it's slightly less bad than it appeared on first glance! :D

Chicago's doing slightly better, though that can always change in the intervening months....

Hey guys,

So the CSC revived my husband's packet June 13 of last year and apparently now they're on the 16th (?) but we still haven't heard anything yet. Should I be concerned about this??? This whole thing is so stressful. :(

I wouldn't worry yet. It's average. You officer might get stuck on May applications so that it might be not your turn yet. Wait another 2 months before knock their door.

That sounds familiar... does anybody remember, way back when we were waiting for I-130s in 2013/14... didn't one of the offices suddenly jump way forward and then work "both ends towards the middle" to make their average processing time start to come in line with their targets?

They'd started to get a bunch of bad press and promised to get processing times back to the 5months that they'd promised. So by jumping way forward, they were able to have the official time move forward quickly (because they were "averaging" a later time).

Am I just hallucinating, or does anyone else remember that?

Or it could just be one of those random approvals that happen sometimes.

Is your timeline updated?
