JIm about the acquaintance that you mentioned, probably and I'm guessing now, is depending of the nationality and the status of the petitioner spouse, here in Miami is very common, that if somebody is married with a Cuban resident category CU (whaterver the number after the CU) they get automatically the 10 years GC, I have more than 8 friends in that case that in the interview the get the 10 years instead the 2 years with ROC, and I think there is other nationalities also with the same procedure, but not sure at all, but for Cubans 110 % sure

As far as I know, if you're married more than 2 years to your US citizen husband and you applied for AOS then you will get 10 years GC, but if you're married with US citizen less than 2 years then you will get 2 years and you need to apply for ROC. Bottomline, more than 2 years marriage is more real than less than 2 years and let's admit it, there are many fake marriages here in the US just to get GC.

In this case our acquaintance is also immigrating from the Philippines, just like my wife.  So they should have been treated the same.

Update:

 

Received 2 letters today from USCIS : one was the 10 year GC and the other was an approval letter sent from Nebraska.

 

GC was mailed 2 days after the card production status change.

GC was received 4 days after it was mailed.

 

Congratulations to everyone who's been approved and good luck to everyone awaiting their approval.

I was reading your previous posts, on one of them you mention your NOA is June 10, so there it is, that is why it did go through. So one more Juner approved, NOA June 10th.

Good question - I have no idea.  Sorry maybe I misread your question. 

I guess you can try submit it any time.  What the system does at the other end is anybody's guess. 

The process and systems behind it seems to have a mind of its own - I gave up guessing a long time ago, and take no notice of anything the system does anymore. 

 

(I just tried to do it - see what happen - said my case was within normal processing times, which it is - my NOA is 06/22/16, and come back again when processing times are outside that date) 

 

Edit to add - Anubabes268 - I think i got it now - the user you were quoting may well have a NOA from before June 15 - but that isn't clear from their post - connected the dots finally.  I'm blond - I am scatterbrained sometimes 😝😝

I got my new driver's license today (valid for the next 6 month) with infopass in my passport. There was no problem at DMV office. 

However, I am still annoyed by delay with green card((((. It means once I'll get my GC I will have to go back and get another license. Seriously, it's my 5th license card🤦🏻‍♀️

I wonder why some states issue these short term driver licenses. In Oregon, driver licenses are issued for a duration of 8 years regardless of whether you are a citizen, have a 2 year or 10 year GC. Saves everyone the trouble.

~AOS : 09/11/2014 - 2 YR Green card received!.

~ROC : 07/13/2017 - 10 YR Green card received!.

~N-400 : 10/28/2020 - N400 Interview & Approval/Oath Ceremony/US Citizen!

I have no idea what is behind it. Maybe you are right, it depends on a state 😩
