Hello everyone,

I am currently still in the ROC process. NOA date is 06/17/2016. Though I haven't received my GC or approval letter, I am considering filing N400 but I have a couple of questions pertaining the residency requirement. My wife and I have lived in Indiana since we got married. My GC was issued on 09/05/2014 and expired on 09/05/2016 but recently I got a job in New Hampshire and moved there in April 2017. I have traveled to Indiana 3 times since then. Now my question is, do I meet the 3 years requirement for marriage based naturalization since it states that one must have continuously lived with the USC spouse for 3 years. Also, am I able to file from NH or return to IN to file the N-400.

This post and questions seem to be causing some confusion. These questions are actually about naturalization, not ROC.

For ROC:

Time as a permanent resident (2 yrs less 90 days) is the only time restriction to applying

If there's an interview, both spouses must attend

For Naturalization:

There are 2 time restrictions: First, 3 years less 90 days (5 yrs less 90 days if no longer married to the same person)

Second, at least 3 months as a resident of the state where you filed N-400

Only the "citizen to be" needs to attend the interview.

Is your timeline updated?

How long was it between your status change from "we ordered your card" to "we mail your card"?

I have an Infopass for June 27th, was hoping to get my card by then. Haven't canceled the appointment yet.

Congrats, but this is the last thing we are concerned about  for people who are still waiting for ROC decision...

well this is just bunch of craziness to say the least.

I just tried sending an e-request for out of processing time and apparently we are NOT out of processing

per USCIS time table, which is complete bull since june filers are getting approved left and right but they still

have May 9 as being processed and the table was updated last week. I think its time to get a hold of a tier 2 rep.

form received date is June 10th, i got the NOA on june 14th 2016. I keep making an info pass but we keep missing it due

to my husband crazy work schedule but the next one he better make himself available cause i want to talk to someone face to face about this. Can i go to the infopass my self without my husband although the application is for him? Im the USC...

Hey guys, so my NOA is June 8th, 2016, CSC, and I did the case inquiry (as some of you advised) on july 15th, haven't heard back, so I just called USCIS and the first person I talked to (prob tier 1) said that my case IS outside of processing time so she transferred me to the next person who was an actual officer ****, he looked into my case, said it seems like it is still pending BUT he can see that there was a case inquiry and that my case was assigned to an officer to be reviewed and that I should hear back by June 29th. Soo... its interesting since my email confirmation for the inquiry says "Thank you for your request: USCIS will review and process the request. Expect a reply by July 6, 2017", not the June 29th. And does the fact that my case will be reviewed means it will just be put up to the top of the pile or will it actually be approved (hopefully) during that review? I am confused and I dont know. BUT I do know that it did something lol so if your NOA is before June 9th, definitely do the case inquiry!!!

And if I dont hear back by 29th, I am going to call again.

Good luck everyone!

Just received my approval letter in the mail today! My case status online hasn't been changed (still shows Case Received), so I guess online status isn't that accurate.

I didn't log my case here originally, so here's my case timeline.

VSC

Case received date: 06/27/2016

Biometrics date: 07/28/2016

Case approval date: 06/19/2017 (Received in the mail 6/22)

*I changed address in December 2016, moved to a different state, we're in Massachusetts now*

This has been such a long wait, but I'm glad it's over. I'm even eligible to apply for N400 now lol.

Hang in there guys, that letter will come soon!

I understand. Me asking that question does not undercut what we all go through during the I-751 process. Most of us have been waiting for longer than a year now and my comment did not intend to dismiss that or ignore other applicants. I understand what everyone goes through since we sailed on the same boat. Those of us approved will continue to support the people in the community and help then along the way in the process.

Maybe it's a stupid question and it doesn't matter now but why I have never received any approval letter?
My online status changed, they produced the card, I got it in mail couple days later, no letters.

Thanks and congrats again. Did not mean to sound irritates. I am happy for you that the excruciating wait is over. It is just so frustrating to see CSC's lack of movement. Hopefully we will all be approved soon.

Zombie69, a very respected user and frequent poster on here is just frustrated at this whole process.

I know him personally, and trust me he is super happy for all users getting approved.

I think this process is getting to people a lot, especially June CSC filers like me - but I have my own ways of stress relief. Just like Zombie69.

I would just remind all frustrated filers, your status is not at risk. So why the endless drama??? Chill and go with the flow.

You are and will continue to be LPR's in the USA. So please try not to worry. It's all good, friends.

We will be LPR's until USCIS say's we're not. And they may say 'not'. There's the rub, Horatio.
