Actually WinnfieldJules, you don't deserve better.

The US immigration laws weren't put in place to make you feel better. They could not care less about what you want or how you feel. Do you actually understand that at this point in time, they are not on your side?!!!!

The rules regs tests evidence requirements are put in place to stop endless fraudsters and scoundrels who are taking the mick out of the green card system, that we are all diligently and legally trying to uphold with our genuine applications.

i hate to break it to you harshly, but the USA and its government owe you nothing.

You have to toe the line and do what USCIS say or you ain't coming in.

Harsh - yes. True? - yes. Maybe unfair but this sense of entitlement has to stop guys. Until you are a citizen, you are always a guest, remember that.

"Entitlement", nothing has to stop here, and this is really a code word for a Republican anyway, please take your political beliefs and "political correctness" nonsense somewhere else. People just want to get there 10 year green card and Don't we fit the "getting in line like anybody else" right wing style talking point to your liking? The political innuendo has to stop here. This is not a political forum.

If you go to Vermont Service Center's processing times page, it says they are processing May 7 from last year and many late June filers are getting approved. So for CSC, does that mean many late July filers might start getting approved? Here is hoping..

But there is a sense of entitlement, that the government department USCIS is not helping you, by processing applications in a timely fashion that suits you.

If they want, they can process applications in 5 years. It's their country, not ours, and we should respect whatever process that they choose. I'm the same. Brit boy waiting in line with everyone else.

Sorry if you feel my rant was political. I'm not sure I mentioned any politics at all, and I don't want it to be political. It wasn't meant as anything of the sort. It was more a reminder to many frustrated users on here that really there isn't much we can do about it, and we should be a bit more realistic about our expectations, when we are the applicants,

We are all entitled to an opinion about the process, and I would also add that I think immigration is very much a political issue.

Anyway the poster has a point. We are all frustrated at the lengthy process, so we should focus on helping users who have particular issues with extension and travel etc rather than the politics behind it.

Obviously, there is nothing we can do. They have the say, we don't, but it is natural to feel frustrated and it is ok if some of us express that frustration. I have already conceded that it might even take 2 years to get my 751 approved, but if some of us want to call our congressman for help, let us, it does not say we can't. We have nothing to lose by doing so, and it is not necessarily unrealistic. You do the best, and after everything has been tried, we will just continue to wait and wait like most us us have been doing anyway. Let people feel their frustrations, it is understandable.

The political discussions always end up being deleted here. No one is banned here, but it is not right to come here by telling people that how they should feel.

Hi everyone,

I got my stamp today so I could renew my DL but I did run into an issue and was curious if anyone else had the same problem? The representative mentioned that in their system I am listed under my maiden name and she couldn't do anything about it because I didn't have a marriage certificate with me. I don't understand how this is the case as I filled out everything correctly on the AOS paperwork, my GC was issued in my married name, and all correspondence from USCIS comes in my married name.

So weird!

You obviously edited your message. How is speaking my opinion about trying  to avoid telling people how to feel about immigration matters insulting others? You can be a Republican. Democrat, independent, no one is stopping you. Freedom of speech is important, but to point out the possible political discussions here is not insulting people, the heated political debates  always result in deletion by the admins here. Your accusation of me insulting others is unfounded, I think the truth is just the opposite, but glad you edited it out. Just cool it. I am not here to praise Trump or hate GOP even though anti immigration sentiment comes mostly from Republicans. Let's not deviate from what should be focused here.

Absolutely - it is an open forum and everyone has the right to come here and voice their frustrations and ways they are trying to hope to move the process forward.

That is their right.

As it is my right to come here and voice my opinion as why I think it is important to try manage some of those expectations, as people think one call to a senators office and your case will suddenly approved. I just have a sneaking suspicion it isn't that simple. I wish it were.

I guess I'm just a little bit more realistic about this process than others.....

if someone here can tell us about an experience when a call to your local representative genuinely caused a change in your case ststus, that is under normal processing I would love to hear about it. Be great to be proved wrong!!

Thank you, I apologize for accusing you of being a Republican. I should not have jumped to any conclusions just because you think we should not feel entitled. There is nothing wrong being a GOP,  but you are right. Immigration matters are political, but we are all tired and running out of patience, and there is nothing much we can do except waiting patiently and hope for the best.

Like I said, calling congressman may or may not work, but it does not harm anything to do so even though it may be a waste of time, but sometimes, you will never know until you try. Since USCIS has all the power and we don't, obviously people will try anything even though it might be a way to make themselves feel better during this long and frustrating process, but I think most people here are realistic, but like I said, humans are creature of feelings, it is important to be realistic, but it is also important to have stress management. I have personally conceded I am going to wait for a long long time...i do agree, you have a right to come here to voice your opinions, I agree.
