California Service Center (63 applicants, 21 approved ~ 33%)

Thanks for the update!

Some of those date lines read like science fiction. If they are accurate, there is an incredible range of processing times coming out of CSC.

I have a feeling one of the previous posters was correct - there is probably a huge pile of applications in the June in tray in the office, and an officer comes and grabs say 100, and then another grabs 100, and so on, so you could see how some people near the top of the date order could be last to be processed as they end up at the bottom of the officers pile.  Someone further down the date order could end up at the top of another officers pile to do.

I think its all a bit of a show tbh, and we just have to let the process take its course.

For all those who are stressing or having a panic, I would reiterate that your status as a permanent resident is not under threat.  USCIS are very clear that your status remains intact for the entire process.  It may need a stamp in the passport if you need to travel, or show ID for a drivers licence, but USCIS have to give you the extension stamp at the infopass appointment - I have yet to hear of anyone being refused a stamp within 1 month of the GC extension expiry date.

And if anyone is worried that you will be refused entry at the PoE with a stamp, the worst case scenario is that you will be taken into a secondary questioning area, where they do go and look at your case status with USCIS and the computer will say that you have an extension, and you will be admitted with no issues.  Again, I have not heard of anyone with a valid I551 extension being refused entry on this point alone, at the PoE.

So please don't worry - It is frustrating, but you will all get there.  Hope we all get good messages soon!!!!

Thanks for the calming, reasonable post. We sometimes let our frustrations get the better of our good judgement.

Jim

Appreciate that Jim - I only do it because I get a little frustrated at the (very understandable) panicky comments on here about the process.

I just want to reassure our friends on here going through the process, that in the grand scheme of things, this is one of the safest processes you will go through. If this stresses you out, I hate to see what a bag of nerves you all were during the initial Green Card process. Haha.  Sorry I shouldn't laugh, but I mean it, relax all of you. If you have good tight applications, just sit still, do what you have to do if you need an extension stamp, and wait it out.

On another note, I'll tell you this.  When my cousin worked in the White House (I won't say doing what, but it was high enough), he said that the transition to the Obama goverment from Bush, showed the difference between the efficiency of goverment agencies.  He said that what a USCIS office took 6 months to do in a Bush administration, took 12 months in a Obama administration.  So I wonder if the change of government has affected the efficiency yet again, for the worst maybe?  Just me thinking out loud - no evidence - just what I learned from my cousin (now retired).

Any update to the filers from vermont office???????

A girl I know who has her I-751 received on 6/20/16 just received a letter today requesting for evidence. I read a post earlier of ways you can prove but she is unable to use half of those options.

she is able to bring the following...

mail showing they live at the same residence. But it is his parents house so no utility bills.

jointly filed w-2.

joint bank account, but the only money that goes into it is when they get their tax return direct deposited. She gets paper checks and her cell phone is paid monthly with no bill.

they have no wedding pics, they married in another country but he was already a citizen here. They do have pics together on a vacation not too long ago.

I suggested joining a gym together....any other suggestions?
