O1 Visa Re-entry Question

Hello, guys :)

As some of you know, I got my O1 visa a month ago and entered the US last week and was admitted for three years (to the duration of the visa).

Now, as I'm a performing artist, I'm touring the world also and not only the US. Some tours can take a month or two in Europe for example.

My question is, does it allow to be out the US for this period? Also, I read somewhere that when I'm back, I'll have to show recent paystubs. As I'm a musician, I work for different venues and production and get paid mostly cash or checks. Does the paystubs a must when coming back to the US with O1 after traveling abroad? Or my agent letter and the approval notice should be enough to show at PEO when I'm back?

Thanks!

I'd maintain a presence [address/etc] in the US while you leave. I never had any issues travelling with my O1, I usually gave my approval notice and they just put a new O1 entry stamp in the passport.

I don't see an issue as long as you are not away for too long. I'd double check with an attorney with entertainment experience. People in my line of work [film/motion picture] often are on O1 but that US work would require them to shoot on location in other countries for weeks at a time before coming back to the US.

Personally the longest I've been out of the US on an O1 is a month for holidays and never had any issues coming back [i maintained a US resident, bills, car, etc while I was gone].

Thank you! I have an address here, not in my name, but I rent a room in my friend's apartment and pay her the rent.

But my bank statements, phone bills and all that in under this address. Is it enough to demonstrate maintenance of US residency (I also got NY State ID)? Also away for too long I think I won't be, I'm not going to be out for more than two months.

Thanks!
