I am going through the same thing. I have waited 11 weeks and NVC said they still haven't received anything and that it may have been misplaced and there is NO timeline and maybe someone will find it?????I called USCIS and asked for a tracking number or confirmation it was sent and they said someone will contact me in 2 weeks. I am very upset about it, but I guess there is nothing I can do.

Thank you all..

I know as of last week it was still in California, so only within a week it has been closed.

My NOA2 expires Aug. 6, so I am worried I will be cutting it close if NVC waits 3 -4 weeks to get my case number.

This doesn't sound good at all...I have seen some files being received in 2-4 days at NVC. Clearly either its lost or forgotten to send... or fallen into some black hole. How frustrating for you - I hope you can kick up a storm if required and trace your file. Senator?

Have you submitted an inquiry from the USCIS site?

I did on May 20, and had a reply back on May 23. They told me my file was in the middle of the final stage.

It made no sense, it had already been approved. I called again and I was told they were making sure all was in my folders to mail.

When is your NOA2 expiring?

do not send inquiry to USCIS u

send it to NVC NVCinquiry@state.gov

send them an email each month

this keeps the case open

my last applicaiton was over a year in USCIS and over a year in NVC

i kept the case open by sending emails as advised / you can also call but calling is hard to prove later that you did it to keep case active

hand written letters are also good but you do not yet have NVC case number and you need to know that

NVC is U.S. Department of State's National Visa Center, located at 32 Rochester Avenue, Portsmouth NH 03801

603-334-0700

ask for your case number

i was told at one time while waiting that i was on hold for a visa number to come open ?????? not sure the person i talked to knew anything

In the past I've gotten great information speaking with an immigration officer at USCIS instead of the tier 2 officers. Have you thought of making an InfoPass appointment and going in? I also had a great experience with that. Even though they weren't able to solve my problem, they were able to give me way more info than whenever I called in. Good luck!
