Oh boy. So the employment letter that is just optional, right? I have a salary statement that would work?

I called NVC regarding the military serving thing and she said that if he has paper work of it we should say YES and send the paperwork.

Yes I did submit them together in one big package.

Just to be sure he only did the military training. He did not serve before or after, is that what your mean?

Well, in lieu of a signature, a company stamp or official company logo is highly recommended if you were the only sponsor. However, given he existence of a joint sponsor, its unlikely a whole lot of weight would be put on the features of your salary document.

As for the military service. All sources i have read so far are pointing to "yes, your IV applicant was mandatory enrolled (mandatory military conscription now abolished) in the military even if it was just that 4 month training he completed. This means that he was could be called up anytime (back then) to serve immediately without having to go trough the formality (signing "the dotted lines") of enrolling as he had already done so by accepting and taking up military training in lieu of imprisonment (a crime to not enroll for training vis-a-vis "service" back then).

I believe they say that the photos should be taken within the last six months, although I don't know how they'd know if they don't have the old ones. We got new set of photos in any case.

passport photos are not require for NVC only for the interview

we just got approved at Potomac center on 17th June, FINALLY!!

few questions regarding NVC , when should i expect to get Case #

do NVC send Notification via regular mail ? or emails ...

do they take originals from Egypt or we send just copies ?

and advice and tips to speed it up would be highly appreciated

in 4 to 6 weeks. Usually once your petition arrives at NVC takes about 10 to 14 days for case#.

Originals are for interview only photocopies to NVC.

Everyday I check CEAC only to see AOS say "PAID". Today on a Saturday, out of habit checked the AOS to say N/A !!!!
