We have paid the AOS bill (Paid status) and IV bill (Pending status). Should my husband send the AOS document or wait until I file the DS-260 online and send the Financial documents and Supporting documents together as one file?

Hi,

Wondering if anyone can shed light on when I can expect a possible case complete!

We sent our AOS and IV documents to the NVC on May 13 and our scan date was May 17th. However, 10 days later I realized we hadn't included one document that we should have and so we mailed this to the NVC with our barcode sheet. The scan date for this was June 3rd. When we've called the NVC, they are not clear about which is now the scan date for documents received. They just say they received our documents on May 17th and June 3rd and all documents are now together and under review. Any ideas on when we should hope for a case complete? I was hoping for June 17th but now I'm worried it will be July.

You can send the documents. You don't have to wait for DS-260. Just send both AOS package and IV package together.

Make sure to include document cover sheet from payment portal.

Thanks eljourney. Do I have to wait for the IV fees to show Paid status or can I submit the documents without that?

Also when you say cover sheet from payment portal, do you mean confirmation page?

I have a similar situation. My first scan date is May 26 and second one is June 6. I was told that they will consider 6 weeks or 30 days from the second scan date.

I would say consider your second scan date (so hopefully July 3rd) It's better not to have hopes too high. If we get it earlier, it would be merrier :D

oh!!! If you are employed abroad AND paying IRS from abroad, this definitely matters on your application. In which case, you must answer Part 6 and all of question 1., then add your job letter and recent pay stub for your overseas employment to the petitioner's financial documents.

Great that you have a joint sponsor because USC petitioner's employed overseas is sorta considered domiciled overseas, and although also retaining US domicile, are not*** (discretionary) eligible to sponsor IV applicants. But certainly your overseas income counts.

Thank you so much. I am employed but Abroad I as well have filed taxes. Do I then select unemployed then?

No you don't have to wait, you can submit the document. When you login to the site, click on the "Fee" (its right next to "Choice of Address & Agent").

Select AOS fee and you will see option "Print Document Cover Sheet". Similarly print one for IV fee.

Oh boy. So the employment letter that is just optional, right? I have a salary statement that would work?

I called NVC regarding the military serving thing and she said that if he has paper work of it we should say YES and send the paperwork.
