i am asking again the same question please

my petitioner is not working, so do we have to send Pay Stub(s) and Employment letter of petitioner too??

Pay stubs and employment letter is optional. So no you don't have to if she's not working obviously she wouldn't have pay stubs and a employement letter.

Please does anyone know what it means when they ask in the visa application "Did you serve military?" My husband only did the 4 months military training as required by law but he did not serve them! All males from age 18 had to do the training for 3-4 months. Do we say NO then to serving in military?

I have a question, when you get the checklist and the NVC states in the mail that, "If acceptable proof of eligibility is not provided as requested your case will be reassigned to process at the Embassy/Consulate in your last country of residence.", will i still need to send the request email to them for change of adresss or will they automatically assigned my case to my country of citizen?

P.s. I sent the document what i have of my current living country but i m 99.99% sure thay will not accept it and send me one more checklist.

Hey Studentss;

The list for your pettioner is OK. Although the tax returns are optional, it is nice for the embassy folks to see that he is current with his taxes as far as his last period of employment.

The joint sponsor list is great too, and simply missing the same[petitioner's] bar-coded cover sheet as listed for the petitioner. The reason you need a copy of the petitioner's bar-coded sheet on the joint sponsor's documents is so that when your file gets separated (which it will) to the different NVC offices it can be easily traced back to your case. Although optional, it will nicely complete your file (and leave no room for questions later on) if you also included a job letter for the joint sponsor.

Best regards,

InStrides

Exactly as the NVC officer said in that correspondence to you is quite the logical thing they'd do. At this point, for you, might applying for a [Canadian] visa extension be a less than timely option? If not, are you prepared to make the necessary sacrifices to take the interview back home in your "last country of [legitimate] residence"?

I applied for extension and they approved me until October but nvc officers asks for at least 6 months validation from june, which I can't show them. So yes! Though I don't want to i have to make sacrifices. But the only thing confuses me rite now is, if i have to apply for change of address it will take minimum of two months. And I don't know when will i get the date for my interview.

Hi E&E;

So training is mandatory in his country of origin. If he wasn't deployed into service, then he didn't serve. At least that's what I've summed up from this article (see link below). You can always double check that answer with an NVC rep tomorrow (one more day / few more hours won;t hurt... :) ) They are very proficient at helping out with such things.

Hello again;

Ok so i can only tell you from an empathetic viewpoint that (in your shoes), i'd avoid making address changes beyond my NOA2 / NVC welcome letter date (when you have already received a case number of which the embassy code is a part) unless there are legal / tax implications to my doing so. The reason being is that, beyond those dates, major changes (names, address and no. of dependents) changes can just complicate the application review for yourself and those NVC folks, not to mention slow up the process for yourself and others.

If you already have a scan date and an address is that crucial, then go for it providing all eligibility documents within one week. If eligibility documents are are going to take "two months" to become available, id forget about it. When might your interview be set? Might be sooner than your expect. So, take no complicated chances.

So, granted its time consuming to travel all the way back there (and then some) for that interview as opposed to taking it in Canada where the embassy is but a train / bus trip trip away. At the end of the day, you just want this immigration stuff over with. Plus, you can complete your medicals, etc in Canada to take with you to India embassy. Come December, you'd probably won;t regret not making address change. Time you can't get back, but the money for that trip back to India will come back.

Best,

InStrides

Hey , Your welcome.

Did more reading ad found that "compulsory military service" including the 4 month training requirement ended for Bosnia and Herzegovina sometime in January 2007.

Judging from this, its looks like he was considered to be in military service even though not deployed or on active duty anyway.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_service#Bosnia_and_Herzegovina

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosnia_and_Herzegovina

I also asked my incredibly smart USC spouse who is more versed on this, and he said that if one completes training and enlists ("signing the dotted lines"), then that would be considered military service. Please reconfirm with NVC rep tomorrow.

Best,

InStrides

thanks a lot InStrides

Good evening!
So I wanted to ask when I can fill out the DS-260? Do I need to pay all fee's, the AOS and IV Fee first before being able to fill an application? Or do I need to send the Affidavit of support and supporting documents first?

Thank you in advance!

Thank you in advance!

The IV Application will unlock once you have paid the IV Fee and it shows "paid" in CEAC.

AOS will be invoiced first tho so yes, actually you will have pay both fees before you can fill out your application.

Hello there,

I am pretty new to this but I have couple questions: My i-130 got approved online a week ago. I checked the uscis website and it says approved. I never got a text message and so far no mail from uscis. :( Maybe I am impatient but...

How do I know when they send my case to NVC? Will it be a notification online? Thanks.

It will say "Sent to the department of state"
