Hi forum,

My checklist scan-date is May 12th, and still waiting. It has been 35 days. I have been logging in and out of NVC page for at least 1 time every hour until bed time.

Please post if you have similar time and still waiting. Is the NVC slow for the month of June? The April and May filer threads seem to have faster response time from the NVC. Hope for the best.

TrauCon

Silly question (sorry for asking)- how long does it take for the IV bill to be processed. I just made the payment via US bank account. Is there a way to fast-track this just like calling NVC and reviewing DS-261 over the phone?

Ironically, I called the NVC after my last post and they told me Case Complete. I cant believe its true. I will call again tomorrow to confirm with another agent one more time. I don't see the 3 N/A on NVC site either, maybe it will get updated later.

Btw, you guys are lucky with CR1 case since you do not need to wait for Visa Availability. I am FA2 case so I have to have many many more months after my case complete for an interview (assume visa will be available).

Best wish to everyone.

Can I send in my SOS and IV package without the police certificate? We won't receive ours until June 27th. If an RFE is requested how long will this hold up our process?

DO NOT send an incomplete AOS/IV package to NVC. It can hold your case up for an extra month or more. Just wait until you have it and then send the complete package.

Hi,

Yes, you can go ahead and send in the AoS packet and IV packet to NVC without the police cert. Here's why:

When you mail out your packet, it is received at NVC via their mailroom - that is the DELIVERED update the courier service will show when you are tracking your packets. It takes the NVC personnel 30 to 45 days (inclusive of holidays and weekends) to upload your info from both packets. You will have your police cert in hand in 11-12 days. When you get it, mail a copy out to NVC with a cover letter indicating the late issuance to you. Remember that NVC takes copies...only Affidavit of Support forms must be original. :)

So by the time the NVC personnel is ready to upload the docs for your case, they would have already received your police cert so no checklist will be issued.

Best of luck to you!

hey guys little help I received this

We reviewed the Affidavit of Support documentation you sent to the National Visa Center

(NVC). According to the current poverty guidelines, it does not appear you or any of your

sponsors meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrant(s)

for this petition. To avoid delays, you may have an additional sponsor complete an

Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) and provide it to the intending immigrant to submit at

their interview. At that time, a consular officer will make a decision regarding this

requirement.

the interview will take place in china

I am making $12000 a year right now so as the poverty requires I am $8025 short on the affidavit of support and I don't have a joint sponsor

I do have about $70000 in saving account

my question is can I use the saving account money as asset will my wife have problem getting her visa if we don't have a joint sponsor thank you

Hi,

Unless your savings meet the requirements listed on the AOS, you must with no doubt get a joint sponsor, or obtain some other source of income that will meet the requirement. See below quotes extrated from the Affidavit of Support form.

The total value of all assets, line 10, must equal 5 times (3 times for spouses and children of
USC's, or 1 time for orphans to be formally adopted in the U.S.) the difference between the

poverty guidelines and the sponsor's household income, line 10

Part 7. Use of Assets to Supplement Income
(Optional)
Only complete
Part 7.
if you need to use the value of assets to meet the income requirements. If your Current
Annual
Household Income (indicated on
Part 6.
,
Item Number 15.
) is equal to or more than needed to meet the income
requirement as shown by the current Federal Poverty Guidelines (Form I-864P) for your household size (indicated on
Part 5.
,
Item Number 8.
), you do not need to complete this
Part
. If your total household income does not meet the
requirement, you may submit evidence of the value of your assets, the sponsored immigrant’
s assets, and/or assets of a
household member that can be used, if necessary, for the support of the intending immigrant(s). The value of assets of all
of these persons may be combined in order to meet the necessary requirement.
Only assets that can be converted into cash within one year and without considerable hardship or financial loss to the
owner may be included. The owner of the asset must include a description of the asset, proof of ownership, and the basis

for the owner’s claim of its net cash value
