Somebody please I need advice! I'm trying to get a correction made to my marriage certificate but the people at the registrar's office says as long as the document has been processed it cannot be changed! I'm really frustrated now because I don't want to go to the interview and then they'll deny me because of that ???

That definitely sounds like a difficult situation!! I can't really be for sure what you'd need to do in this situation, but maybe talking to the NVC will help. I can only see from your timeline that you sent the AOS package in, but not the IV, so I'm assuming that's where you are. Maybe someone else with this specific experience can help.

Great! That's the nice thing about the NVC. It's a lot more steps than the USCIS part, but it seems to go a lot quicker =) The USCIS part you just wait, and wait and wait, and the NVC part you almost have to shove your way through hehe

As for the comment " I can only see from your timeline that you sent the AOS package in, but not the IV, so I'm assuming that's where you are.":

For one i don´t see that showing up on the timeline and most importantly: Do NOT send the AOS and IV package seperately! That will only cause major delays in the NVC process. Both AOS and IV paperwork have to be sent together.

Hi RoseGrove...My timeline wasn't updated so I updated it couldn't fill in everything cause I myself don't know dates for some things cause we had an agency taking care of the paperwork. We sent both packages together and the first time it took 32 days to get the checklist so we sent in the required documents and NVC acknowledged receipt on May 15 saying the scan date was May 12 16. As for the marriage certificate part I guess nothing can be done, gonna try to get a notarized letter from the marriage officer saying the certificate has incorrect info due to an error and state the correct place of marriage. Hope that is good enough for NVC.

Anyone who was approved in May still waiting for their case number? Today's my 14th day being at NVC and still nothing...

When did NVC received your document? From that date it will take up to 2 weeks to get a case number.

NVC will say it will take "up to 42 days" for everything. However, 14 days is quite a bit longer than usual from what I've seen, although they seem to be getting backed up. Your only real option that I know of is to keep calling and maybe you'll luck out.

Unfortunately, the more backlogged they are the longer it will take to get a case number and invoice number. It can take up to 42 days. There have been people that had to wait 30 days. All you can do is continue to call everyday and see if anything has changed. I know you're frustrated, but stay strong. anger, and worry only causes high blood pressure, gray hairs and wrinkles. :) TRUST ME I KNOW! I HAVE A LOT MORE GRAY HAIRS THANKS TO NVC!

That means your case was received on May 27th I believe. You should have gotten a case number by today EOD (according to the rough estimate) Since there was one day off on Memorial day I think you must get it by Monday(June 13th). Yes definitely keep calling everyday until you get the case number.

Congratulations!! Call them to confirm. I loved to hear those words "yes, your case is complete!" it was music to my ears. You should get an interview scheduled by the end of this month for August. :dancing:
