I think you'll be good. A friend of mine had a change to make on her AOS forms but NVC requested a new form be taken to the interview so she didn't have to resubmit anything to them. Good luck!

I just spoke to the NVC, I think maybe they're in a busy period they've had our AOS and IV docs for 35 days and we never received any confirmation from them. Anyway, they have them and are processing them. The lady said that they have 6 weeks to check the documents, everywhere I have read says either 30 days or 2-4 weeks. Oh well, at least we should hear back in the next week.

Once the NVC confirms the docs are okay (fingers crossed) does it then get sent to the embassy who set the interview date or does it stay at the NVC?

Those emails from NVC are a hit or miss. Not everyone receives them that's why everyone on here says to be proactive and call them to confirm they received your documents and find out your scan date.

When I was going through NVC, they said it takes 30-45 days to review but they were catching up so it was almost always 30 days. they must be backlogged even more so they are saying 6 weeks which is around the 45 day mark. Hang in there. I know the waiting sucks but your CC is coming soon.

Cheers pal.

Does anybody know the answer to my questions about what happens after I get my CC? Is everything sent to the Embassy who schedule my appointment, or does it stay with the NVC until my appointment is scheduled?

I think either can happen, but I'm not 100% sure.

The only one I know for sure can happen is that it stays at NVC and then they get the interview date and after that, then they send to the consulate - only because that's what happened for ours.

Okay, I've just filled out my timeline. (I'm new here).

I was just wondering how long the case stayed at the NVC for as the NVC seems to be quite busy right now. So I thought if it leaves sooner maybe it'll be quicker, but who knows.

After Case complete you are in the interview untie and stay at NVC until you are scheduled for an interview. Usually 3 to 4 weeks before interview your casefile is sent to embassy.

hi to all,

I'm a newbie on this site as a member, but I visited it so many times to get useful information with my visa case. I will let you all know a bit about my case.

3rd May 2016 I-130 approved(NOA2)

11th May case sent to NVC

17th May case received to NVC

3rd June case number

My husband called NVC on the 6th June to see if we have a case number,an we had one assigned since Friday 3rd. We also completed the DS-261 form in same day. After that, on the site the IV fee was available to be paid but the AOS fee was N/A.We decided to wait to review the DS-261 form over the phone with NVC and to see what happens next...

Is there something else for us to do now and we didn't?

Morning! :)
So I hope someone can make me feel better and tell me how long does it usually take a petition to get to the Department of State after approval? The petition is coming from Potomac...

Just looking at the timelines and filtering on Potomac, looks like between 3 to 7 days, with a 12 day outlier and about a 6 day average.

I'm not sure if that's going to make you feel better or not =P
